So Cal
I am riding with a group from another forum. Its the Calguns forum which is a pro 2nd amendment group and also has a lot of riders.

I did a couple of rides over the past two years with the guys in San Diego and they do a great job of putting together rides. However since I havent really been active on the FJR Forum I cant remember who any of them are.

If you out there, you know who you are. :)

Can you help. Can someone help with a suggested route for a starting point in temecula that hits Julian.

HEre is a link to the post of the other forum. If you want to go then go for it. Since its a mixed group of MC types I wouldnt really recommend Palomar.

Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Redlands so I have various ways to get to Julian. From Temecula just take the Hwy 79 to the Hwy 78, turn left about 8 miles your in Julian. If Palomar isn't your bag you can turn right on to the Hwy 76 and turn left on Mesa Grande Rd. Mesa Grande is curvy tree lined , open country with views of Lake Henshaw on one side and a valley view coming down. It's only sixteen miles and you can pick your pace and it rejoins Hwy 79 two miles from the 78 -79 junction. Once your in Julian you can retrace to Temecula stay on the 78 to Anza Borego that can return you to the 79 or you can drop down to the Salton Sea & head to the 74 in Palm Desert turn off to Anza catch to 79 back to Temecula. There are a lot of great rides in San Diego County and factor in the coast there are many more. The only down side is Hwy 76 which is usually slow with traffic from Oceanside to the 15 Fwy. Have a good ride.

Skuehl,

Wow......lots of possibilities here. Casinos, twisties, Palomar Mountain/Observatory, most excellent riding.

If you send me a PM with your Email Address I can send you a Garmin route I've taken several times.

I have the starting point at Sweet Lumpy's BBQ in Temecula.........you might want to choose a place to have

breakfast or coffee instead nearby.

If you take them up the south and east grade roads to the observatory be sure of their riding skills

(very twisty- sport bikes love it), or just stay down on Hwy 76 to Julian. Try the Miner's Diner for lunch......

regular & buffalo burgers and then Mom's pie house across the street for pie a la mode (had strawberry

/rhubarb last time there). You might toss in the Pauma or Pala Casino for laughs.

Just did a little solo 600 mile ride Friday to the Rock Inn near Lake Hughes with two buddies. They wanted to

get back home early ???.......and went home on the I-5 near Lake Castaic , I felt like riding.......and decided to extend it to Cerro Noroestre, Taft, McKittrick, Hwy 58 over to the 101 and Pismo Beach just for the clam chowder bowl. I sure bit off a lot of night riding back home but it was fun.
