This ride would take us through the backroad to Anza Borrego, Idyllwild, up to Lake Arrowhead for lunch. Then if we have time, swing over to Big Bear and take the freeway home.

SDNE 7:30, Departing 8:00 Sharp (This location is at Hwy 15 and Valley Parkway in Escondido - one block east in the AM/PM gas station. If you need more info, PM me for my phone number)

Anyone check the fires lately?

Holy effin Moses, the fires. Yeah, what a mess I tell ya.

Here's some pics I took so far. I'll try to update the page as I get a chance to take more.

There is a sign on I-10 now that says Hwy 62 is subject to closing. Also, there is a lot of talk in the local media about the impact on the Big Bear resort area, so check for road closures before you all take off this weekend. And keep in mind that just because the road is open doesn't mean you want to be on it (smoke, tons of fire trucks, lookie-loos, etc).

We are trying to come up with an alternative to this ride for tomorrow.

The original ride is canceled due to fire, heat and lack of interest.

There will still be two FJR's (me and a ridding buddy) meeting in Escondido at the AM/PM by Hwy 15 and Valley Parkway at 7:30 AM tomorrow. All are invited and welcome. We will probable do a 94 loop type ride with a lunch and return before the major heat of the day.
