I have done this before on other bikes and there has been alot of talk on here lately about safety and being seen on the road, To this end I have illuminated the vents on my 05 to add extra visability from the side at night. I do not prefer to add external mounted reflectors or lights as to not spoil the lines of the bike. Gonna do a shakedown ride tommorow but this should be good. pics attached.

Florida, too. No blue lights on yer vehicle, period. Anywhere. Probably applies anywhere, I'd check your state's web site for applicable laws.

I also have to add, using "visibility" as justification for that is a bit lame, IMHO. Compare the brightness of the vent lights with that running light just a foot or so in front, and tell me which one people will see and from how far away.

If you want goofy bling, fine, but don't tell us it's in the name of "safety."

They still get hit, night or day. Anyone countin' on lights to save 'em, good luck I sez. Oh, and I know Mn law says no lights unless parked. Some do it, but it's just another reason to get pulled over and donate to the city/county/state.

Yea, they look cool, but I think they'd be a needless cop/hassle magnet since they appear to go against CA's V C Section 24003 Vehicle With Unlawful Lamps code. But then again, to each his own I suppose. :D
Yup you are all correct in the VC Violation, I dont use the lights,(they are switched),when riding with others as not to attract attention to other bikes having violations as well like aftmkt pipes that are too loud.,and its really for decoration, I like them for side marking like an RV has. In the absence of Law enforcement, I do use at night at intersections since I have been nearly T-Boned a couple of times. I was pulled over in 2006 on PCH by CHP but for speeding and Loud exhaust,

The RED side marker lights were on and the cop didnt say anything, In fact he tore up the ticket after I invited him to where I was going to in a rush. I know I may not be so lucky the next time.

I once got a ticket for having blue lights on my '25 T-bucket. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, it was December 23rd, and they were CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!! They also wrote me for flammable material on the engine (Tinsel, thrown out in court, package said fire resistant) no front brakes (thrown out, registered as a 1925 not required then) no seat belts (same) and 10 other items.

Perhaps it was the little burnout I did right behind the MP station about 30 min prior...

I have the multi-color led's, and when I rode from Tx to Cali, during the night I ran with them on.

I remember the law being that they cannot be on the front of the vehicle and/or not strobing...not sure though.

Ride through H-town, and never been pulled over for it.

Looks like the computer I built for my kids.... Wonder if they have the light up radiator fans too

I wouldn't mind having some plan ole white ones.

Okay, I gotta ask where you were going that qualified for a free pass? I might want to use the same one next time, ya know! ;)
I hosted an event in Malibu for The Spark of Love Toy drive. My brother is a captain for L.A. County Fire Dept., I work on bikes for Anthony Keidis and Rick Rubin as well as some other celebs. The cop thought I was BSing him, I was running late so he escorted me there and tore up the ticket.
