Just got an 05 with 23, 000 mi for $4750. It's in great shape. Has a few extra goodies. Yamaha trunk. Throttlemeister cruze. Windsheild. I'm excited to ride. Like right now!

Probably too snowy to ride in Iowa right now. Tear it apart and see what makes it tick (pun intended) or not and install a fuze block that you'll surely need for all the electrical crap you're about to put on that superior Gen I.

Very nice deal, that's $3K less than I paid for my '06 last year, nice buy! Love the '05 blue, great color for the bike. Whatever your winters look like, I can guarantee you'll be riding before me. Michigan isn't friendly to two-wheel folks with its bi-polar springs. Happy riding and getting to know your new addiction... we on the forum will be happy to help you spend more farkle money very soon. ;)

Now your in the game!!!! Enjoy that bike but be care the 05's are the fastest one. Rode mine from central In to eastern Il for lunch today. First outta state trip this year!!

Good grief, what a price!!! I'd NEVER let my 05 go that cheap. You stole it dude!!!!! Congratulations. Did you get the one with the ABS?

It doesn't have abs. I will be getting a few things for it real soon. It needs tires and a battery right away.

I'll put a plug in for Jeff at Bikeeffects.com for a battery. Great prices and customer service.

the 05 is a fine machine. Hope you enjoy it.

I don't know how much you've read about maintenance, etc: you're coming up on your first valve check. Consider a new Cam Chain Tensioner install at that time. The Gen 1 bikes have a weak CCT from the factory.

Tires? thats a whole different can of worms..... I do a lot of commuting so the dual compound tires work well for me (Michelin PR2)

C'mon spring!

ABS FLAYBS....dont need it brother...we can do pwr slides easier ! Welcome to Gen 1ness and ride that puppy ! Congrats !

Congrats! You got a good deal! I rode an '03 to 75K, then sold it to sister and brother-in-law last spring. Replaced it with...(drum roll) an 05 ABS with 21,600 miles. Paid $6K and got C-Bailey, Givi Trunk and more. Excellent maintenance records. It also had good tires and battery. Put 10 K trouble-free on it last season. I think I'll ride it for five or six more years. If desired, you will ride yours for many more years, too!

Thanks for all the encouragement. Dr gonzo Montana is on my to-do m list. Heading to the Ozarks early spring. Quick plug for butler maps here. Wow. I got one for the Ozarks, all the roads are mapped and rated. Just waiting for the weather to cooperate.
