After pouring over this and other forums on the FJR, ST1300 and Concours the past few months, I decided on the FJR and picked it up today.

Welcome, congrats and, what put you over the top? What made you decide on the FJR over the other choices you had?

I liked the engine/transmission on the Concours but did not like the looks of the bike. I was also concerned with the heat issue as mentioned in the posts. As far as the Honda, they really haven't done much to the bike since its introduction. Yamaha listened to its riders and came out with the Gen II bike. Fit and finish on the Honda was superb. It appeared to be very well made. I couldn't understand why it was so expensive. The FJR was just right.
