I started working over in Port Arthur this week and let me tell you east of Houston is a mess.

No power between Baytown and Winnie and some places look like a twister went through.

And the damned storm surge got into a bunch of houses and it STINKS LIKE HELL over there. Like a sewer.

I'm not so bad off.

Did just fine. I stayed, the SO and two kids went to Lakeway to stay with her sister.

The worst part of the whole ordeal were the high winds that snapped many trees. Very little rain in our area.

I was out of power for about 24 hrs. but had borrowed a generator from a fleeing friend. Ended up buying a generator and not using it after he took his generator back when he came back to town.

At least we have one for the next time and for camping trips now, still in the box and ready to go.

Too bad for the people in Galveston and Bolivar Peninsula. We dodged a bullet here in the Brazosport area except for Surfside Beach and Treasure Isle. They were under water long before the storm hit.

Blue Water Highway from Surfside to San Luis Pass has been destroyed in many places. Red Snapper Inn got some wind and water damage. Kitty's Purple Cow has been damaged quite a bit and the Port Hole Club was flooded as well.

Things are slowly heading back to some kind of normality around here. Power is still out in some areas of Lake Jackson.
