I was looking for something a little lighter and more sporty than the FJR for day rides, so this little guy came home with me a few days ago:

Why "like a puppy"? Well, compared to the big dogs in my garage ('06 FJR and '04 V-Strom) it's got all the exuberance of puppy..;-)

Yeah, I know, by today's standards a Viffer is not a "real" sport bike, but I doubt I could deal with a current sport bike's ergos for more than 30 minutes at a stretch.

I expect I'm going to sell the V-Strom and keep the FJR for touring. That means I'll own two bikes, both with enough self-confidence in their performance not to need to flaunt their engine displacement..;-)

You're gonna love that bike.

Got an 04 asphalt parked next to the FJR, I use as a daily commuter, wife refers to it as my"hooligan bike". It may not be a true sport bike but it sure can cook.

My brother has one identical to yours. He got stopped the first week he owned it by a patrol officer in West Virginia. The officer saw the bike across the valley from his location and hit it with the radar. He was clocked going 175 mph on one wheel.

The officer stopped him when he got close and gave him a warning. If he had written the ticket the bike would have been impounded.

This is as much of a superbike as anyone will ever need.

Fixed that for ya! Would hate to have anyone call BS on your brothers story! <_<
