Well, we had a SAMSUNG 40 LCD and 2 weeks ago it died being only 1yr. 11mo. old. Made the mistake of not getting the extended warranty. It appears that that model has a history of blowing out the power management system (they say a $300-$400 repair). Anyway, we bought a new one Black Friday at BB. I looked at all of them again, read reviews, taked to people in the know and decided on another SAMSUNG, series 5 this time. 1080P, 120 processor. I thought the 40 was nice, but the 46 blows it away. SONY and SAMSUNG had comparable pictures, but the SAM was a little cheaper. I DID get the warranty this time and even upgraded that! So far so good. Probably fix the 40 for the bedroom when I find a good repair shop..

I've had a 46" Samsung DLP 720p set for a little over two years and been very happy with it. If you have a little extra depth, you can save a lot of coin by going with the DLP.

We have had our 1080 Samsung 46" DLP for a little over three years now and, been very happy with it. The unit is about 18 deep, but only weighs around 70 lbs. The advantage of the DLP is there is no issues with viewing angle , other than getting so far you can not see the screen. Reflected Light problems only seem to be with having a sunlight drenched window directly in front of the screen and behind the viewer, but blinds fixed that quickly.

It also has a PC input to use as a moniter, and with a wireless mouse and keyboard , I use it to check the forums from my couch when not watching television. (I can flip to the moniter durring commercials too)

We just dumped our DirecTV for AT+T's new "Uverse" service, with HD channels included. Very Happy with this BTW.

You can find some good deals on the DLP's now, my neighbor just got a 65 inch Samsung DLP for what most good 50" plasmas are going for.

I found the LCD's TOO bright, But I'm a bit photophobic..............
