just received this reply back from the folks at Russell.

Hello,

We use a product called Malco and you can order it through there website www.malcopro.com. Any product with the least amount of silicone in it will work also and never use armour all.

I like Bick 4 for conditioning anything that is leather. If it needs cleaning, then Bick 1 and an old tooth brush will clean it.

Living in the North West my leather Corbin gets wet alot. Tried a couple of leather treatments like Lexol and have been disappointed. I now use Nixwax weatherproofing wax for leather. Not to slippery and doesn't leave a milky mess when it gets wet.

Hmmm,

actually having some of this in the closet probably boosts its rating a bit.

I've got some of that Meguiar's Gold too, and didn't care for it. It left a white residue that showed up in the cracks of the leather on my truck seats. Hard to get it buffed out.

I have had good luck with "Leather New". My wife has been riding horses all her life and this worked well on the saddles. It is a liquid saddle soap. I have used it on seats, leather coats and riding boots. I find that it really keeps my dirt riding boots dry. I buy it at Murdocs home & Ranch Stores around the Denver area.

Lexol! Great stuff, not too expensive, doesn't clog the pours of the leather.
Just ordered some online. It doesn't appear to be widely available in Canada. Got it from a online store out of Port Colborne called eshine.ca. $20 delivered. I need to the seats in the car too.

Saddle soap is a cleaner. A conditioner should be used afterward to restore moisture to the hide (see the article). Lexol's at so many places around here that even the local Ace Hardware has it.

I just finished slathering up my dual leather Russell Day Long with it and no ill effects noticed, but it's a new seat with no cracks yet.

I've just received my Russell seat and I used nikwax leather restorer to protect and waterproof the seats.
