So, i'm heading east on 264 just passing the newburgh road exit the bardstown road exit is up a half mile....
I am just merging into the fast lane, everything is going well. Just starting to rain.....
Speed up going around 60-63 miles per hour, then just like tv, a car off to my right and in front of me maybe three or four car lengths start to lose control.
First he goes right then left then clips a small blue car which sends it off to the right and him to the left , now he hits a small black car that has tried to evade him and thus blocks my escape route. So the little black car is heading for the concrete dividing the highway and he has now spun around and as I am slowing a rapidly as I can he has spun and it appears we are now going to hit head on. i vere as far as I can and am now full on the breaks as Contact is approaching...... So as I am bracing for impact and steering away slightly to the left to avoid a full on front end collision.... Now I see him he is now headed right for me a straight middle of the vehicle hit, then i move more towards the left and then crunch.... waiting for the air bag to explode in my face but no!!!
At this point I am still in the fast lane maybe angled into the median off to the left, he has been hit so hard that it spun him back facing straight ahead from traveling from i oclock on the face of a clock toward 7 0clock... my avalanch is out of commission as well as the truck is received a fatal blow to the radiator and the front end is busted up pretty good.
thats not going to happen, so I had manuvered far enough to the left that the drivers front of his grand prix hits my passenger front left center this totally busts up his car and he is out of commission. Now i am waiting for my impact from other cars however none comes thank goodness for that....
I get out after waiting a few moments as does he, we both ask if each of us are okay and then he proceeds towards the little black car she is shook up, but okay... the little blue car and two others on the other side of the highway seem to be okay. But no way i am trying to walk over there...
Now I'm dialing 911 when they come on the line I see a police officer approaching from behind, and advise them and disconnect.
I gues that fact that a jtown officer was on scene so fast prevented any more collisions.... So he checks to see if everyone is okay and makes sure louisvlle metro is enroute...then after I sweep up the debrie in front of my tuck we push it over off the road. now all the cars are off the road So I'm thinking maybe I should have updated the onstar to digital service, because had I needed it it would not have been there for me.....
I a just thankful that no one was hurt and I was able to get the speed down to a non airbag deployment collision.....
So as I call the claim in to my insurer I am just thinking wow, two major home owners claims in the last six months and now this.... I bet they love me....
And to think if I would have been on my perfectblueride this would have not ended near as well......Funny thing is I would have been had I not made plans to hang out with my son after work only to have him cancel on me about 20 min.'s prior to me getting off work....
But the next time you watch nascar, and someone loses control from the high side and is moving down to the apron and all the traffic is trying to get around him untouched that was how it was this evening....makes you wonder how things can go from fine to total havoc with the blink of an eye......
So
at least the rain is suppose to go away for a few days.....
