I got some M3 x .5 hex head screws, ground them down to the right length, and loctited them in. It helps to work in a manufacturing facility with a tool room!

All secured now!

I find.......... when I use loctite on the bag locks................ the

key don't work no more......... :nuke:

See my post in the Technical Discussion section of Nov. 13, 2008 on this topic, for an anal report from this engineer with OCD. Can't get any worse than that!!

Fell victim to this last month! Returned home from a quick trip to town and looked down to find the left-hand lock cylinder GONE. Checked the right-hand one... it was very loose. :angry2:

Rather than deal with the security screws, I just put a tiny dob of 3M marine adhesive on the edge of the screw heads...it ain't goin no where.

I just replaced them all with 6mm x 1 socket head cap screws, and have a few spares, along with the allen wrench. I have these taped to inside top of the sidebag with a piece of packing tape.

BTW, check those screws once in awhile. Even loctite won't last forever. Here I am in a parking lot at CFO putting my lock back together 3 1/2 years after the first assembly with loctite.

My locks on an '08 were tight enough, but no locktite. A mirror was vibrating a bit, and I did them too. They were not tight enough IMO, and I think they are worth doing too.
