Anyone on this thread so far (or reading it for the first time) planning to participate in one of the Texas Six Shooter sanctioned rides next week? I am and am only hoping to find someone riding the same ride as I and wouldn't mind having company along. Come hell or high water, KSU o400 next Thursday morning...Temple, Texas.
fljab and I will be invading Texas from Florida for a SS2k gold attempt. What ride are you attempting? KSU at 0400??? Did they change the starting times?
The web site still has the KSU times listed at 0600. 0400 would be much better timing for Austin traffic though.
There will always be someone to ride with. There are quite a few different plans That I have heard being used.
See you in Temple. I am headed for Texas Saturday, plans along the way have me arriving in Temple Wednesday afternoon.
Jim will be on a '09 and I will be on my '05.

Haven't made up my mind which ride I want to partake in. It will be one of the two thousand milers though. I did a 1000 in February a little over 16 hours and cant imagine two back to back. So I will most likely ride the 2000 in 48. Hope to see ya in Temple that Wednesday evening at the dinner.
There are a few riders who are riding the SS2k gold, their plan is to knock out the 1st 1k lap and rest at the motel, then knock out the 2nd 1k lap for the 2k gold.
Jim (fljab) and I are considering knocking out the first 1500 miles, then resting IF/WHEN needed, then completing the 2k gold. We will both be running Aux. tanks
and hopefully mine will transfer properly.

Since I do not have an aux tank, I will hopefully link up with someone else. With me in my only ride/rally where i used one, it turned out to be a false sense of security. I spent as much time trying to make it work as I would have used just refueling a normal tank.
