I am Jennifer, Mike's sister. Mike Berlien passed away last night. We are trying

to locate his motorcycle friends. He was in the Iron Butt Rally several years

ago. He has lots of friends in this community. Please help me to find them so

they know and can help us celebrate his life. Call my cell 818-648-9691, or

e-mail [email protected] .

Mike Berlien has passed...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have no other news than this post from ADV from Mike's sister, Jennifer:

Mike was an Iron Butt rider, and may be familiar to the FJR family.

From the Reynolds Motorsport checkpoint at the 2005 Iron Butt:

Mike Berlien, just like your Papa Chuy, also loved the Yamaha RD400's; I hope that God, Our Heavenly Father, had one waiting for Mike as he entered the Pearly Gates!

I first met Mike at the 2004 NW Passage Rally. I had slipped my wallet in the thigh pocket of my 'Stich, failed to zip the thing closed, and managed to lose it during the odometer test ride. There I was at a rally with no driver's license, not credit cards and no cash. Mike, who I had never met before, heard about my situation and pulled out a roll of cash. "Take this and pay me back later", he said as he's trying to shove a few hundred dollars in to my hand. It was surreal, but as I would come to find out over the next few years, that is just the type of guy he was.

God speed, Mike. You were and are a great representative of our sport and the human race. I'll miss you.
