My Escort 8500 is always on. I don't leave home without. It's saved my a@@ several times and the guys that ride with me are amazed at how well it keeps us having "fun" and riding a tad bit over speed limit. :)

Sure it's not just me, but if you have one and the others don't... You always seem to be the Rabbit. :)

Dave

PS. I run mine with a Kennedy over-ride, iPhone and Er6 earphones.

It would be nice if Garmin and Passport would join forces for an all in one unit.

Ys yes yes..the Garmin/Escort 1000.

Zumo and Passport in one unit with optional remote pickups for front and rear detection.

Who do I send money to?

Someone else mentioned that he leaves his detector on and doesn't mute it. That gets old, at least in my riding/driving area.
It's why I put in a separate power switch to control the V-1 while it's in my tankbag. I run the V-1 into my Starcom, but I hate even the muted sound when I'm in a retail-rich environment (strip-malls, grocery stores, etc). With the power switch I can just turn the power to it off. I just have to remember to turn it back on afterwards.

If this is an issue you should think of upgrading to the 9500. It has the ability with the built in GPS to dismiss false signals.

I have gotten use to just pushing the mute button on mine when I'm in known areas of false alarms.

JUst wait a couple of years and see how thy might be issuing tickets. Just a concept:

They will start putting a bar code on your bike or what ever you drive and put a transponder on the side of the road (anywhere) in two places and all you information about the bike.is on a hard drive and you will be getting a ticket in the mail Or the other option: Just use your GPS systems you already have and they can track you that way and issue you a ticke t. This system is being used rite now.

Tickets will be a thing of the past being issued by cop in the near future

Dont you love technology
