Looking for a first bike

I have a friend in Knoxville who is about to enter the biking community. He is considering an SV 650 or a V-strom and would prefer to stay away from the cruiser market. He is 240, 6-2. so he could handle a larger bike if the price were right. (I'm thinking along the lines of a Triumph trophy)

If anyone hears of a smashing deal on a good used bike let me know. Preferrred price is under 3-K. Cheaper = better cause he's gotta get gear too.

Depending on experience...check out the Ebay offerings.

I had a 96 Triumph Sprint as a second bike and it was a good one.

There is a sweet Triumph 1200 on Ebay (Item No. 280039438552) if he can handle it.

sv650 is a great bike, but at his size he'll be much happier on the 650strom you mention.

easy ergonomics, killer practical engine, easy to handle and can go many places. A great first bike.

What about an older Connie? I know, I know, but they were solid machines. Should fit in the budget.
