I am looking for suggestions for a good Yamaha Service center in the norther San Diego area. I have not had great luck with North County Yamaha's service. I brought my bike in to have the throttle cables replaced and when the tech opened up everything and saw that I had a cruise control that threw him and the Assitant Service Manager for a loop. I had them install then new cables and disconnect the cruise control. They lost the lock nut for the cruise cable too. When I picked up the bike the slack had not been adjusted out of the cables either. The Assitant Service Manager also seemed to have an attitude when I called to check up on the bike to. This on top of the poor service Sante Fe Dreamin got out them (brake pad installed backwards) means I will not be returning.

I want a dealer that will not ***** and moan if I have farkles installed on my bike and can work around them.

I know Turbo Dave has recommended Rancho Cucamonga and that will be my fall back choice as it is an hour away. Can anyone recommend a dealer in the northern San Diego area that has good service for those times when I need the someone else to work on the bike?

No recommendations for N county but ... I"ve been using Motoworld El Cajon but I believe they're shortcutting some of the work plus there's no de-brief. I'll be going to National City Motorcycles. My son, who also rides, has good things to report on the quality of work and attitude.

Redlands John thats where you need to go.....

It is 70 miles from you to Rancho C and 66 miles from you to Redlands, and 53 miles from you to SD. We know from Bill that Redlands is good, I spoke with the Service manager there last wee and he told me when they do a service they use the service manual and go down the list.

i will let you know how my 16000 mile service goes on Tuesday.

I have been to NCY, Motoworld of El Cajon and House of Motorcycle. For after market installed stuff Motoworld has been the best. To buy parts from NCY has been the best. House of Motorcycle use to be the best but every time I have brought the bike to them they have not been able to fix any issues.

I will never take a bike to fun bike center. Take a bike in to get new tires and the little *******s will roast the old tires off before they put on the new ones. Also Alba is a nightmare. Very few parts in stock and the service department is not easy to work with. They do more dirt than street.

Let me know how this goes Richard. I might call them and talk with them to.

Sad state of affairs when you purchase a vehicle and don't feel confidant having it services at any authorized dealer.

It is my belief that service returns is where most dealers make their continuing after sale profits. There must be some type of new business plan that most of us are not aware of, buy it and search for a place to have it serviced correctly....

WOW..

East County Dealer wanted 650 to do the valve adjustment. Dealer wanted 1500 to do a complete 26,000 service. Checked 2 dealerships to make sure. Both were about the same. I got the entrie service (all fluids and plugs and more) and a new front tire (BT021) at a great independent in National City California for 713 OTD. This is why I cannot use a stealership.

I've had good luck with Alba Action sports in Poway and Tom at Motoworld is one of the best mechanics in town.
