Hello all!

Looking to put together my first group ride this coming weekend. Would sure like to meet and ride with a couple FJR pilots. I've already put the word out to a few friends at work, one rides a Harley, another a Busa, and the other a Kawi. Anyone interested?

That's it! From San Diego to Julian. We don't have a starting point nailed down yet, but that can be worked out. Interested in going twowheel?

NOW your talking my old stomping grounds!! I wish i still lived in Escondido... Born and raised there, Moved away in 1991 to Lake Henshaw, THen to Borrego Springs!

If i may recommend some roads: From Julian, Take 78 east towards Ocotillo Wells, S-2 to S-22 To Borrego Springs! Let me tell you this... Montezuma moutain is 13 miles of bliss!! 4500 feet to 780!

That is what i would do! However, I would not stay in Borrego long, You will burn up!

Your looking at 100 miles from San Diego To Borrego Springs...

Let me know if you go that way or have any questions.

Mmmm, I'm in Carpinteria so it would be a long day for me. In addition to the effing summertime traffic through LaLa Land, the heat inland is supposed to hold through the foreseeable future. I might limit my riding to coastal areas for a while...

Thanks for the advice, Adam,

That sounds like a good ride. I've never been out that way, past Julian. It should be fun. Will you be joining us?

Aaron

Adam,

Are there any places to stop and eat up there, that you would recommend? I plan on making a day of it, so we'll have to eat sometime.

Sorry you won't make it this time, twowheel. Maybe I'll head up your way one day and we can check out your neck of the woods.

Honestly, I have not been out there since 1994. I cant remember any good places to stop for food that's good... Unless you get to Borrego Springs. At the bottom of the hill (montezuma), You have Palm Canyon Resort. As my memory serves me, This place is a good stop.

I wish i could join you, But i live in Springfield,MO now and don't get out there very often.

I do remember the roads though... Very fun!

Have fun and be safe!

Adam

Alrighty then, well, if you ever do get out this way, and want to ride, give me a holler. Thanks again for the info. You take it easy, too, and keep the rubber side down. Later.........
