My group of mix nuts is wanting to ride this Sunday and is leaving the decision up to me where to go with one stipulation...... "avoid the mountains because it's going to be cold" <<~~~~WTF? That is almost impossible to do in this area.

It mainly has to do with some of the HD riders that will be with us that won't swallow their pride for the look cool factor and wear full face helmets instead of their brain buckets.

There's going to be myself on the FJR, one Buell Uly, two custom soft tails, a street glide, a SV1000 and a few others.

Leaving from Chattanooga what would be a good destination other than the museum in Birmingham{we just did that a couple of months ago}. I personally prefer the mountains of N GA or the Skyway but either of those will be in the elevations.

Anyone have any ideas? Tell me some place cool within 2-400 miles of Chattanooga.

How about Lynchburg, TN? If it's not too cold for the brain-bucket guys you could do a couple twisties up and down Monteagle Mt. along the way. And Highway 50 between Winchester and Lynchburg is fun.

Come down to New Orleans...I love being the experienced tour guide to the best, cheapest restaurants, twisty roads along the bayou, ride to the Gulf of Mexico - Grand Isle and walking on the pier and the beach. The zoo is the 2nd best in the country (#1 is San Diego), Aquarium is good, and the D-Day (WWII) museum is superior is into touristy stuff (lotsa plantations in the country and a ride along the Mississippi River - River Road is kewl.

I can fit a gaggle of bike riders at my house gratus if ya don't mind sharing with our 4 friendly dogs.

The New Orleans Ride to Eat Gathering is March 20-23, and if that's not convenient, we can do a dry run of it before or after on some other weekend. (see clicky below)

Cheers,

Mike in Nawlins'

We recently made that trip also, went to the distillery etc etc. If it weren't for my brain bucket buddies Suches, Dahlonega, Fort Mountain would be my choice, but they want to take a route we have not taken.

Looking for a 4-600 mile day.

Still got a few days to decide.
