Don:

I'll give it a quick spin when I get there. I've ridden in the 20s before. Thanks for all the information from yourself and other members. I'll call you on your cell when I'm there to make sure I'm checking everything you want to check.
MISSION ABORTED! gregarious, I just received a call the bike has sold. Many thanks for your willingness to help me out, if there's anything I can do for you in the Southwest, just ask; you've my e-mail and phone number. Don Stanley

..and be careful when kick starting it. The lever folds away from the bike, sideways, not typical like most bikes. And, be sure the kick start lever has fully engaged the internal gear set teeth - sometimes this model has been known to 'bind' when the teeth don't mesh, and lever won't move at all. You put all your heft into it, and either your knee or internal high dollar parts get broken.

I'd really be surprised if the owner lets you ride it.

Don S - have you looked at:

1. 6 volt, not converted to 12

2. Keys for gas tank pouch

3. Has engine been sitting or have the oil slingers recently been cleaned?

4. Has the ignition been changed from points (oem) to aftermarket?

All of these items will affect price.
Senor Donaldo, Muchas gracias for excellent supplementary information that you provided Greg. Are you going to restore the /2 in your garage, or do you have an interest in selling it to a good home, to a fellow /2 BMW Fanatic? Inquiring minds want to know!
