A long time ago, I was at a flea market and found a great deal on a "chop saw"
that I desperately needed to build a deck on my house. I was on my FJR, and the
only place to put it was on the passenger seat, and the ARM of the thing
nestled right in the middle of my lower back. I was 35 miles from home, and
thought that this was going to be the most miserable ride ever. About halfway
home I thought, "man, this is GREAT", so I bought a cheap "passenger backrest"
off Ebay, removed the passenger seat, and "rigged" it up so it would
support my back. I LOVED it, but the wife was NOT happy that she could not ride
anymore and it was SO UGLY. So I removed it and have been searching for a riders
backrest ever since. When one comes availabe, {only a couple of times} I was always
broke, so I don't have one. If anyone hears of, or has one, that is inexpensive,
please let me know. Thank you, Phil
Ps. YES, I know the FJR is a Sport Touring bike and I am really ODD for putting a
riders backrest on it. YES, I know that with the FJR's riding position, my back
will not be able to touch the backrest. AND YES, I know I will not be able to drag
a knee with the backrest on my FJR. {actually, the Russel Day Long seat with the
velour material, has already addressed that situation}.
