Good looking AE, especially with all the included goodies!

not until you go around a corner.....

you will find that you are dragging your pegs all the time.

You can ask Panman about this...his came off a loooong time ago!

George, is right I started dragging the pegs as I got more comfortable on the FJR. That would throw me off so I took them off and mounted some forward pegs to help shift myself around a bit when needed.

I think I still have them (MCL's).

Speak to me. I have lowered the pegs on pretty much every bike I have ever owned. What is different with the FJR? Is there some inherent issues with lowering the pegs on the FJR?
If you're feeling cramped, you can either lower the pegs or increase the seat height. If your seat isn't on the high setting (assuming your's is adjustable), put it on the high position and see what happens. If it's not enough, a custom seat can be made with a higher position. Still not enough? Peg lowers.

I put a set of MCL lowers on mine tonight. Will hit a few twisties tomorrow. I'm no knee dragger anyway so we'll see what happens. Over time, if they turn out to be a pain in the ***, I'll remove them. But I think they're going to work out just fine for me because in the end I'll sacrifice a bit of lean angle for comfort.

Bottom line is... don't discount the peg lowers straight away. Try them, if you think it's the right thing to do. If riders are getting rid of them, buy or borrow a set from someone.
So how did these MCL lowered pegs work out for you Nankoweap? I assume you rode with them by now so how did you like them? You ready to sell them or are they staying on the bike. Did you touch down on your pegs more in the corners? Did you notice if it felt like they gave you more cockpit room. Thanks..

I scraped both sides before too long, but I was trying really hard to do it and it wasn't much of scrape. I don't mind a scrape or two and, honestly, it's not going to affect my fun. Plus, I didn't buy the FJR for a canyon carver. So over all, the added comfort is worth it.

You may want to post a wanted ad and see if someone has a spare set to sell or let you borrow.

Thank you for the information. Ad posted in Want ads for a set of used or new lowering brackets by MCL. Might as well give them a try. Everyone always told me they would never lower there dirt bike pegs because they would be scraping rocks and had more of a chance of catching the toe of my boot on something causing injury. Well after more than 15 years in the dirt and lowered pegs on every bike I have ever owned I still don't have any injuries to report. Well at least related to the lowered pegs. haha Thanks again for the info..

Nankoweap or anyone else for that matter, Do you have any idea if Gen1 lowering brackets will fit a Gen2? I had a guy respond to my WTB ad but told me to find out if they would work first.. Thanks
