Courtney,

Nothing to be embarassed about... just a learning experience we all go through.

Always check Someone Else's work, it is amazing what you find. Almost everytime someone else works on my bike, I find something overlooked and check things out thoroughly before paying the bill.

Glad you had a Great Trip... many more Happy Miles to you.

Headed home to Tallahassee on my way back home from SFO a couple years ago, pulled into Pensacola for some lunch. Rode over a railroad track and heard a new "BIG" rattle. Pulled into a parking lot and gave everything a good shake and discovered that the two front bolts on the fender were gone, and the back two were loose. Scary amount of movement!

A dealership in downtown Pensacola (don't remember the name or I'd give 'em a big thank you for helping a brother out) was gracious enough to give me a couple of parts bin bolts and tightened 'em up for me. Had it not been for that, I'd have been in the same place.

I did have new tires put on about 500 miles before I left and that might have been the issue. Anyway, got some new proper allen head bolts a little later and used loctite liberally. No issues since then, but those bolts are now one of my pre long ride checklist items.
