We lost our local dealer in Lompoc but, the local Toyota dealer picked up a few of the techs and offering repair and tire changes (soon) on Honda and Yamaha motorcycles.

although they can't honor Yamaha factory or yes warranty they can do the maintenance on them.

I got my FJR at my local small dealership; Suzuki/Yamaha/KTM dealer "Spaceport Cycles" in Titusville, FL. I hope they stay for a long time as they are just too convenient to me. I get my service work done there (what I don't do myself) and some parts.
Most things I can do better mail order, but I like to still throw them some business when I can. Great little dealership; I know most by name.
I only deal with them when I have to! I try to pre-plan most maintenance. Have had to buy an oil filter or two from them though. It was a better shop when Marvin owned it years ago I believe.

I've been getting a lot of direct mail ("junk mail") promotional pieces from HD offering all kinds of incentives, even now promoting "great" trade-in deals on foreign makes.
I've gotten mail from them also touting good trade in on foreign bikes. I wanted to send the flyer back with a note saying... "are you f'in kidding?????"

On topic... have not had local dealers close but my favorite mom & pop closed a few months back. Guess I'll be figuring out somewhere else to get my tires mounted. THe dealer charges arms and legs for a tire change.
