Well, I just got home from VIR's superbike races. Watching this on TV does ABSOLUTELY NO JUSTICE for how fast these guys are going. I am absolutely amazed & in awe.

I saw many a FJR there. Each year was represented several times. I saw Mike (Powerman). Not sure who the rest of the guys/gals were. I even saw an '03 FJR from Quebec.

I was just wondering if these people are members.

How 'bout that Mat Mladin? Man, that guy is something else!... & Ben Spees... racing w/ a broken right hand!!! Will definitely be doing VIR again next year. I'm just in awe of these guys!

Heidi,

Just got back myself. Have to agree. Saw lots of FJRs from many years, not too many 06's though. I was going to ride from Atlanta on my 06 and thank heavens I didn't. The drive up on Friday on I-85 was horrible. Lot's of stop and go and 20-40 mph time! I would have lost my mind. The races were great. The Suzuki boys just keep mopping up in Superbike. Seems that Yamaha can only "Hack" it in Supersport ;) . I can't believe they changed the 2nd Superbike Rice race schedule and posted no signs at the track, or made any updates to the web. The race was supposed to be run Sunday at 3:15 p.m., and they ran it at 12:00 noon! I saw lots of bikes pouring in around 1:30 p.m., and I bet they were coming to see the Superbike race, which was a done a deal. I would have been pissed! You should plan to come to the race in Atlanta. Road Atlanta is an awesome track and gives you much better viewing options than VIR. You can pretty much be anywhere around the track.

I also went via a car & attended Saturday & Sunday. I love my bike & ride it a lot. It was plain too hot for me to be out on two wheels.

Powerman was on an '06 but you're right... there wasn't many. But the showing of the model shows how much more popular it's becoming.

I can't say too much about the Suzuki guys. This was my first race... but "definitely" not my last.

About the time change... we got into the park & got settled in about 15 minutes before the superbike race. We had stopped up at the main booth to buy a couple of AMA lanyards & the guy says... oh, by the way, have you seen the schedule change due to the weather? HELL NO we hadn't!

That's the only reason we knew about the time switch. I'll bet those people who wandered in late where PISSED!

nobody else at VIR is on this forum? Maybe you didn't see this? Anyway, just curious... no biggie indeed. Great races, though.

Any time you're attending an AMA event, be prepared for schedule changes. They do it quite frequently for various reasons. We always arrive at the track an hour or so before the first scheduled event, just in case they've changed the schedule.
