Some references to this mini-rally are in other threads, but just a reminder that on Saturday April 26, 2008 there are some slots open for the LowCal 250

It's an eight-hour bonus hunting rally throughout the San Diego County backcountry. Your entry is a direct donation to the PKD Foundation. Please send in your entry immediately, better yet, PM me that it's on the way.

FYI: Weather should be fantastic!! :yahoo:

Prediction: an FJR will get the highest score in at least one class...

this event promises to be some great fun. Fantastic rides, a choice of routes, a nice day ride with the fun of a rally and bonus huntng. What could possibly be better??

anyone that is not considering this is a genuine phool.

Very much looking forward to this!!! hmmm, I believe i'm in the alien class? is that right Craig?

See you next weekend!
Damn TWN, we're set for a good time!!!

For starters, but whoever gets the high score overall gets bumped out of their class. So there's always the chance two aliens can place...

...if the locals don't have their act together that is! :p

LOL, got it ...well this alien is looking forward to heading east to Sandy Eggo for this. Might even coordinate with TWN for part of the ride down and perhaps help with my airbox mod, not the bike mind you ...the other airbox.BTW, any dogs or farm animals that need to be fed Friday night? Learned a few weeks ago how TWN can be very helpful in this matter. I might even "prime the pump" so to speak.

Bump for this worthy event this weekend.

John and Craig, I look forward to seeing you again.

Hal and TWN, I look forward to meeting you guys.

I am planning on being at the Ramada bar/restaurant on Friday eve.

Any of you gonna show up????

It will be good to see you again... Hal has to do the rally on paper, as he has been called away for work... but don't worry, there is plenty of good competition for you to embarrass this weekend! I predict a noob will take it all this year. We've also got some motorcycle friendly swag you can strap on the bike on your way out as well.

If anyone wants to be a late sign-up, PM me, you might have to eat at the vegetarian kiddie table while we feast on things that had a mother, but I can accommodate a few more if need be one way or another. Donations will be accepted from people who show-up unannounced on Saturday, but keep in mind your special circumstance will not supersede our schedule to get the riders briefed... unless a public flogging is part of the rider's meeting (in which case you might be the star! :p )

Yea, did I mention the weather is behaving? :)

Prepping the bike at 1730 hrs, packing at 2030 hrs, departing at 1000 hrs tomorrow. See y'all there! BTW, RJ is coming in via Vegas. Heh, heh, heh... Me thinks he's gonna be a wee bit foggy, so maybe I'll have a shot at beating him!

NOT!

I dunno... the guy can party like a rock star all night beforehand... and still dance on the table after the rally is over...

Maybe hope he has some outstanding warrants in CA?

Doug, ...ya I share your excitment for this gig. It'll be good to see you and that gentleman's sportbike you've been racking up serious miles on.TWN, did you know Doug rides a VFR??

Very sorry that Hal won't be making it ...but it does mean more beer for the rest of us and the bell curve on the maturity level has dropped dramaticly.

Wow, clockwork .... We all gunna have some good fun and looking at this as a great opportunity to ride the great Sandy Eggo County roads with some good folks. BTW, got a note from GZ (beeroux) and he'll be there and I believe he may be 2-up?) Good day-ride rally style me thinks this will be.

LOL, definately some old warrants in CA, ..from when I did party like a rock star.

***Changes on my end. Because northern Nevada needs some supervision tonight ...I will NOT be leaving today and and doing Vegas tonight ..instead leaving *early* tomorrow (fri) morning and heading east for Sandy Eggo.

TWN, not sure I'll get near our secret rendevous spot in time ...but will keep you posted.

I'll also use this weekend to continue test my real time status reports. (real time blog here clicky) for sure will update it with my departure time and status as I head east to Sandy Eggo USA.

Lookin' forward to it. This is gunna be some guuud fun!!!

You phucker, you're sand-bagging! Don't lie, I got you figger'd out, boy!

Well, so much for me using you as a cheat-sheet. :(

Safe journey home, Hal. Catch you next time.

I'm out the door. wheels in motion at 3:00a

Pretty chilly and will get very cold down the road a bit ...I'll be eager for the sun to come up. Likely doing 395 all the way, but I've got a few miles to decide if I want to go 95 then over Benton Crossing ..which might be warmer.

See you ******s later .....heading east to Sandy Eggo!!

Yummy pastries and coffee here at Erick Shat’s bakery. Colder than hell north and south of Bridgeport. 17 degrees in Bridgeport so I hate to guess what the 8K+feet passes north and south were.Smooth sailing so far and will only get warmer now. Hope to beat commute traffic once I get to the cities and get to destination mid-afternoon.

More updates later. ……john

Welcome to San Diego John. It was good to see you. You're the first in as far as I know. That will cost you 158 points for attempting to scout the course...
