Has anybody used the Mac Tools MN08-0040 to do their throttle body syncronizing?

The price is only $11.99. I really don't want to pay $95.00 for the Motion Pro unit.

Thanks for the info.

I went ahead and ordered one to try.

Can't hurt to try it out fot $20 (after shipping and tax).

Why all the hate for the Motion Pro?

I did my sync last night, first time I used the tool (or any tool like it). It worked exactly as advertised and was easy to configure and use.

+1 with with Motion Pro, BUT you have to install the inserts to regulate the vacuum and have a proper reading !

I ordered one as well. Thanks for the heads up. If it don't work, no biggie, I have waisted $20 on a lot worse things...

A very talented mechanic of my aquaintance has used the economy-model Motion Pro for as long as I've known him and his bikes have always purred happily despite the low price tag. On the other hand, he has been known to spend $200 on a wine bottle opener.

If I remember correctly, the instrument does have some quirks, among them the requirement to store the thing in an upright position lest the mercury end up on the floor. Maybe that was just him. And it is filled with mercury; a vile substance.

This is a good find nonetheless. One had assumed that these were no longer available under any circumstances and I thought they were going for about $30 when Motion Pro stocked them. So use it carefully and remember when the time comes to get rid of it, to dispose of it safely.

I have the new model motion pro without mercury. Just a blue fluid of who knows what. Had one of the restrictors plugged when brand new. Cleaned it like instructions say and it let too much flow through causing erratic fluid motion. Like I said it works, but I paid 90 bucks for the new model. I wish I had foud the economy model. I looked at the motion pro site and it was not available.

That looks like a good deal, thanks!

Is it my connection, or is that MAC tool site dog slow?

Dammit! I ordered one before I noticed that jwilly ordered one. If I had known that first, I coulda borrowed his.

A fun little byproduct of MotionPro not selling the mercury units anymore is that they also no longer sell the mercury refills. I've never needed it yet but of course now that they don't sell it I'll probably go home and spill it the next time I touch it. Sometimes change isn't good, it's just a PITA.

Yeah, yeah mercury is killing the world. That's why Compact Fluorescent Bulbs are such a great idea right?

Has anyone that ordered the above item received it yet? I realized last night that it has been a couple weeks and mine is still a no show?

I would like to buy one of these too. I just want to make sure it's the right thing (even if it is only $11.99). I'd be interested to hear when they start showing up. Two weeks is kinda long......
