I think you can install this farkle blind-folded. After doing the throttle-spring-preload modification, and adding this throttle lock I am ready to drive... somewhere? Nice add-on, very smooth holds throttle great. Yes vendor sent it prior to pymt. That Bill is a nice guy, he packages his product like it's jewelry.

On to something else to obsess on..... :yahoo:

All that the previous posters said is right on. Beautiful product. BUT... Bill tried...sent me a few emails updating me...he just couldn't design it for the AE. :(

Pat-

I am in the process of completing my two year old remodel at my home which includes an office, wife has digital and going to San Antonio so no pics. Google "cam-lock" FJR and you will see pics. This throttle lock is smooth operation, and doing the return spring mod... I know I am repeating myself but iz telling yaa.... BIG difference to me.

Is this just like the Vista, only in chrome, or is there some thing else to it? The web site isn't the best for showing the product. I see we have a group buy for the Kaoko Throttle Control and I am debating between the two. Any help would be great! Thanks

I have the Kaoko on my GSX650f and like it and it looks nice and streamlined. The thumb style locks are easier to engauge, particularly with gloves on. I'm not one that leaves it on for very long or ride with it at highway speeds but 30-60 seconds as I slow down is all I need to get circulation back in the hand and I'm good to go.

With the kaoko I'd take my hand off the thottle and use my thumb and pointer finger to just screw it quickly so it would be on and then just assist the throttle on return to slow down if need be, take it off the same way.

+1 on the Madco. It was one of my first farkles.

Pics for you

Can anyone compare the Madco vs. the Brakeaway throttle locks? Both look pretty nice, though the latter will unlock when the brake is touched and is about $80 more.

I don't think the unlock via-brake touch (brakeaway) is worth $80.00 more. Madco is not cheap, I just prefer that over Throttlemiester, as I did not think I could get the hang of the TM, and only using one hand to engage it. But hey that's just my opinion. I 100% satisfied with Madco.

so, agree with other poster, that website pics probably don't do justice to the product...

From your pics, it looks like you are using the factory grip?

and it's a pushbutton design?

does it still allow throttle movement when locked?

and you comment thit it's a very easy install...

I went to the website, and i'm not clear if it will work with hot grips or aftermarket type heated grips... perhaps you have perspective?

sorry so many quesitons...

i'm trying to learn more about it.

was considering the Break Away, but this may suit me better...

Did you put a space on the other side to make the grips equal distance from one another? I may be weird but I crowd up on the grip towards the inside and I know I would feel the difference in spacing.

Thanks.

From your pics, it looks like you are using the factory grip? Correct

and it's a pushbutton design? Correct

does it still allow throttle movement when locked? Yes I adjust it on the fly

and you comment thit it's a very easy install... Yep - Its been a few years now but all I did was remove the grip with compressed air, Slid on the madco, reinstalled grip.

I went to the website, and i'm not clear if it will work with hot grips or aftermarket type heated grips... perhaps you have perspective? Dont have a clue. I havent used heated grips. It might be a problem if they make it to thick to slide the madco over.

Not sure if your asking me but I didnt use any spacers and never noticed a difference.
