Gah. I hate these threads. :angry2:

Alan - take your time and heal up, bud. And maybe listen to them doctors. Some of 'em actually know what they're talking about.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery - the ice cream should help! I can never understand the need to mix cell phones and driving...senseless.

Good to hear that you are well on your way to recovery. Here's to continued good news and a speedy recovery.

MJD you are in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Mrs MJD thanks for the updates.

Heal quickly Alan.

Joe

Alan,

Very bad news, and very frustrating about the cell phone involvement. How many people will get maimed/killed before something is really done about texting and talking on them, while driving??

Anyway, please recover quickly and do what the doctor's (and Mrs MJD) tell you!! Hope you're back riding ASAP.

Alan,

From the East Coast: Sorry for your trouble and best wishes for the most rapid recovery possible.

Dan

Alan, just wondering how you're doing.

Home yet? Back in prison? Needlepoint?

Narcotic constipation?

An update when you're able, amigo?

Yup...me, too!

An update would be lovely but that doesn't stop any of us from praying and thiking of you as you deal with the daily details of your situation.

EXACTLY!

Just got this,.... and I'm a sharer.

Hey Michael

I just held the computer for Alan to read. First day with Internet. He's out of Kern Medical Center and at a care facility while we wait for them to get him home. Both hands are bandaged so he depends on the "kindness of his wife" to feed him, etc. Wants me to say that he's anxiously awaiting a transfer to a place closer to home, San Diego. I totally lost the link to his accident notice so I haven't been able to post there for him. His hands and foot surgery went very well. He's go so much metal in him that I've warned him about getting to close to an electromagnet.

Please let all know that he's in a "hurry up and wait" mode. Can't do anything for himself, including walking. Only one healthy limb - the right leg.

Thanks for your message!!

From Alan - via his personal secretary, Susan

Thank YOU, Susan.

Michael, I hope you sent her a link so they can check in here.

:yahoo: :clapping: Now the "fun time" begins... :clapping: :yahoo:

Many of us have been there...starting to feel better and wanting to do more, only to find that we have no strength or stamina. Then the frustration when our body doesn't heal as quickly as our imaginary time-table,he-man-recovery-plan.

Hang in there, Alan (and Susan....there'll be plenty of gloomy clouds before the sun breaks through.

Alan, if this helps, remember from whence you came....you were in baaaaad shape and now you're on the mend.

I just wanted to add this;

I read through the blog of the trip and I thought that group of kids at the campground,

especially the one who parked his bike by yours, might be the cutest thing I have ever seen on this forum.

I hope your recovery is going well and your lawyer is part pit-bull.
