Rode with the venerable, lovable, affable, MadMike last weekend.

A good man, and a good friend.

For better info and pictures of the ride, see Puppychow's Ride Report, which also includes Mike's account of the day,

and a pile of photos from both of them.

This post is just what the day looked like to me - a whole bunch of pics of our man riding and enjoying his day.

Approaching Starbucks to meet the man.

Does ANYTHING beat riding a motorcycle on a beautiful morning?

...Okay. Other than that.

The thin air had an effect on Mike.

While he was down at the lake's edge taking pictures, I'd filled his right sidecase with rocks.

Lake Alpine. Great campground. Good trout fishing. Excellent hiking trails. I spent a good bit of time here

when I was Beemerdons' age.

Gen II's. Manly stators. And, they even look faster! :D

IMG_2783XXXXX.jpg

Golly, there's a lot of pretty country in Northern California.

IMG_9326XXXXX.jpg

Stopped in Murphys. Everything is free here ....if you're Irish.

Seriously.

The ice cream shop had this too.

Mike gave me "the wave" just past Drytown.

It's a tough life, ...but somebody's gotta live it.

Thanks, Mike.

Helluva good day!

Waaay kewel pictures, sir, well done!

It was a wonderful day.

Great company, great adventure, great scenery, and great food....all because of sharing the joy of riding.

Who would have thunk it?!?!

One thing before I forget to mention it....

....thanks for teaching me to ride in snow! :clapping:

OM,

Wonderful report. Love the humor! I have to say, that's pretty cool (the pic below) to be able to go one handed and get a pic. I can do the one handed bit, but handling my camera with one hand? I'll probably wind up dropping and damaging it.

Thanks for sharing.

I wanted to get a picture of Michael taking a picture of me taking a picture.....

For the first time in years of riding and taking pictures, I dropped my camera on this ride. In the town of Markleeville when closing on OM I simply dropped it, watched it glance off my knee and hit the ground then, in my mirror, see it bounce along the roadway.

I went back and picked it up, installed the memory card and batteries and it works. Well, except the flash, which I found when trying to capture Michael in the ice cream parlor.

I detailed the drop in Puppychow's Ride Report thread that Michael alluded to and linked in his first post.

OM, You and your photoshop are going to Hell.

I wouldn't want to be you when MadMike figures out what you did to him in the pictures.

He's already seen them and laughed.

(Inhaling) oooooph..thp..thp..thp.....holding......

"Wow, man, here's the bong...it's your turn. Look at the pretty trees and listen to the river....it's talking to us. Faaarrr out, man!"

Nice report OM. I'm thinking with those new larger Solteks that the Northwestern Power Grid will go down if those are turned on during peak times! You're right, he is indeed a gentle soul, but can really ride like the devil when he wants to! ( drat... I just gave you another PhotoShop idea no doubt)
