Rode with the venerable, lovable, affable, MadMike last weekend.
A good man, and a good friend.
For better info and pictures of the ride, see Puppychow's Ride Report, which also includes Mike's account of the day,
and a pile of photos from both of them.
This post is just what the day looked like to me - a whole bunch of pics of our man riding and enjoying his day.
Approaching Starbucks to meet the man.
Underway and rolling south on Latrobe Road.
Does ANYTHING beat riding a motorcycle on a beautiful morning?
...Okay. Other than that.
Near Somerset.
Mike gesturing politely.
Hell, I don't know where this was taken.
Mike likes to take pictures of stuff.
One of his legs is shorter than the other.
Mike tried all day to lose me, but I hung in there.
It weren't easy.
Lunch spot. Markleeville.
(Not shown- HOT pastrami and swiss on rye. Holy CRAP, it was good!)
Mike knows how to get around a corner.
Anotherright left turn. Like NASCAR.
Trees and rocks.
Mike and I are gonna come back up here on bicycles ....one of these days.
We stopped near the summit, and sniffed around.
The thin air had an effect on Mike.
Summer is coming.
Heading down the west side.
Yuck! This stuff is everywhere up here.
Smile Mikey!
While he was down at the lake's edge taking pictures, I'd filled his right sidecase with rocks.
Lake Alpine. Great campground. Good trout fishing. Excellent hiking trails. I spent a good bit of time here
when I was Beemerdons' age.
Gen II's. Manly stators. And, they even look faster!
Golly, there's a lot of pretty country in Northern California.
Stopped in Murphys. Everything is free here ....if you're Irish.
Seriously.
The ice cream shop had this too.
Glamour shot.
And home along the foothills.
Mike gave me "the wave" just past Drytown.
It's a tough life, ...but somebody's gotta live it.
Thanks, Mike.
Helluva good day!
