The s/o wanted a gps for the car, so she found a Magellan 4250 at costco that just opened up in Woodland, Ca for $249.00. It came with all the attchment and lounts for a car. This list shows it is the top of their line...

Was it a good buy or ?? I know almost nothing about them

You'll probably find some Magellan likers, but there's no substitute for a Garmin IMO. 2720's are a great price and feature point for new GPS users.

I would agree with Ignacio.

Garmin s the industry standard for GPS's. With that said, $249 is not a bad price for an intro level GPS.

I have the Garmin 2720 on my FJR move it to and from truck. I have had several Garmins they are my choice Wife has 330c in van and loves it around 200.00

Due to a great price, I bought a Magellan last summer and returned it for a Garmin.

The physical Garmin display was far better in sunlight.

The Garmin presentation was more usable.

The Magellan display froze and never left the state of West Virginia, despite battery removal and every other trick I could come up with.
