You are correct, sir!
That's great Sully! See you Friday

Kevin and I will be riding in Friday morning with Charlie

Very nice. Remind me to look at your bike to see how many miles (km) you've put on it the past two seasons.

ME
Geez - please don't look at it! It's all scratched to hell-o.

Howzabout I just tell you? - 30,700 kms. 24,000kms last year :)

Kevin or Charlie,
I'll probably take I-95 (Maine Turnpike) to KTP to save time in the morning. What time are you waking and leaving Turner, ME?

Sull
You asking ME? I'll be with The BOYZ.

I'll get whatever wake-up call they tell me to and be ready to rock & roll when they arrive at the motel.

Sullivan,

Any of the places that you check with would be great. I had considered calling them each and seeing if they will do "take-out" cups of chowder (Friday's places). I'm betting they will do so gladly. If it's a problem we just roll on to the next one.

I don't really know how exactly many chowder slurpers we will have on the ride each day. I'm guessing around 20 or so? So I think the places shouldn't have any trouble dealing with us. Breakfast at Mae's may be the only sticky one (can't really tell how big the place is). I did go through the list to make sure that they were all open at the times we'd be there which is why Billy's Chowder house got cut (too early).

We will want to have several people spread through the group that are running the route on their GPS, as the group will undoubtedly get broken up by traffic on some of the sections, but with the frequent stops we'll be regrouped often.

Fred, I've got the route loaded in my GPS and will be riding Friday and part of Saturday morning if that helps. I don't mind riding sweep.

The bike has been un-mudded from the Wheaton camping trip, oil changed and repacked for 2-up Chowda.

Hope and I will be arriving Kittery early afternoon on Thursday so the shopping queen can get her fix. We'll be staying at the Coachman Inn 1/2 mile up the street from the Trading Post.

I have all the routes so I can ride staggered in the group somewhere for those that don't.

Last look, the weather has gone from very good to excellent. I'm not even seeing the slight chance of showers on Monday. This could turn out to be my first ride in 2 years without torrential rain.

Waa Hoo :yahoo:

I don't even want to even think about how early we'll need to get up, but I figure about 1 hour and 40 mins to get down the pike to Kittery. It would be nice to arrive a few minutes early to socialize. If Kevin and I meet up with MEM @ 0700 we should be fine. Sully, you should see us whiz by the Maine Mall exit about 0750 or so.

My tires are crap and down to the wear bars. No canvas as of yet. Fred knows how cheap I am about getting the most out of my tires. The cycle tire changer is in CT and is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I have the front tire pulled off and the rear is coming off tonight. Nothing like pushing the limits trying to get ready for this trip. I won't make it through the weekend on the tires that are on the bike now. MORE COFFEE PLEASE! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Just think how great that bike is gonna ride with those new sneakers on there, Dave!! :yahoo:

Charlie made a good point (via PM). If any of you need to contact me on Friday or Saturday morning for any reason, I'll have my cell phone on.

It 603 dash 965 dash 6910 and works even when I'm on the bike.

See you all at KTP on Friday AM!!

Not to worry. I'm sure I will see lots of rain on the way down.

Canadian FJR
6 PM weather on Wed. night says the rain will clear out Thursday morning so if you Maritimers head out in the rain, it will probably quit soon. Just tough it out! :cold: :cold:
Hopefully most of it will have passed by the morning.

I really wish I could have made this ride, but couldn't get enough time to be able to enjoy it.

Have a great weekend!

Man! I have been following this ride from the beginning. All in my old stomping ground. I would love to make it. Bob, you suck! :D This one is a little closer to home for you though. Great meeting you last weekend. I have yet to wash my bike. Rode it to work today. Been raining ever since we got home (until today).

Y'all have a great ride and enjoy the chowda! If ya make this an annual ride I will have to try and get in on it next year.

Hey John,

Sorry you can't make it. I was hoping to ride with you again.

The good news is the oil spill is not likely to reach the coast of ME so there should still be Chowda for next years run.

Gulf shrimp is another concern altogether.

Ride Safe,

Bob

OK. I'm here. The shopping queen is getting her fix. It is an excellent day. 80 ish and dry.

Come on guys, hurry up!

Alright all you chowda-heads, ride safe and have a great time! Looks like good weather, too! I sincerely apologize for neot being able to make this ride, but outta my control.

Perhaps there can be a part II of the same ride later in the year for those who couldn't make this one!

Enjoy yourselves, and don't forget the chowder at Alison's in Kennebunkport!

Okay, friends, the last list I'd posted on March 20 had the following chowder riders, plus a couple of adds that I've now included. I know you'll forgive any mistakes here, but here's a strawman estimate which suggests about 22 participants:

Likely or confirmed:

08FJR4ME (Potentially part of the ride)

Axeman

Axeman's brother, Martin

Baddog

Baddog's buddy, Roberto

BigOgre

BigOgre's buddy, Dave

Canadian FJR (meeting in Freeport on Friday night)

Charlie Hoss

ChrisW (May join locally)

cota95

cota95's spouse, Marcia

De Oppresso Libero (Sat, Sun?)

dll

FJReady (Friday)

Fred W

herfjr

ionbeam (Potentially part of the ride)

MEM

S76

zip

Zooomm

Maybes, but I can't tell:

Aldawg?

bluejag

Harvey

Nikk

ShinyPartsUp

Sullivan

Taz1300

And I really don't want to say anything to blow the no-hitter, but the eather-way is looking pretty amned-day ood-gay for the eekend-way.
