How many Pirates do you know that will ride 4-5 miles of gravel, new gravel, installed by the lowest bidder, after a couple of Thunderstorms.

I don't think the story is complete yet.

The owner of the Buffalo Chip Rod"Woody"Woodruff offered the county a $1,000,000 donation to get this built, somehow with the cost as low as it is, he doesn't have to follow through with his donation. That said, he has or had a website up and running accepting donations from "bikers" to build the road.

Maybe he and his "Biker Buddies" can raise enough funds to pave the road?

Time will tell, a bypass has long been needed around Sturgis during the Rally.

Or they could just cancel the damn thing.

Not for another year, its how I make my fall hunting money. Daytona pays for Spring/Summer riding, Sturgis pays for Fall hunting..That changes when I start collecting my Social Security Entitlement!

"Construction of the roadway is likely to begin in late November, and completion is expected in summer 2016. It may be usable by July 25."

Holy cow, they build roads in the winter now?

" Zandstra Construction. The company’s bid came in at $1.28 million, which is less than half the cost of the $2.6 million estimated for the project".

How about that construction company with a bid 1/2 of what the county expected. Get r done!

John- I only hope you're referring to merchandising in Daytona and Sturgis, and not something far more personal. Riding and hunting are important, but you have to be able to look yourself in the mirror....

Worry not Bill. Now that he has that new Seth Lamm seat he can go all night and then go all day. All those long lonely nights he spent at sea "comforting" his shipmates help as well.

'This better to give than receive I'm told by some of my Army Infantry friends known to have shared foxholes with their Greek Army comrades. We all know that the motto of the Greek Army is "Neverleave your Buddie's behind"

I have no experience in any of these soldierly arts and profess ignorance and deny everything.
