The Gerbing harness is only $8 but you can also make your own plugs harnesses and extensions cheaply. I wanted a specific length harness to get under my seat without stowing extra wire. The 5.5mm x 2.5 mm size "N" power connectors from the parts drawers at Radio Shack mate with the Gerbing plugs.
Just make sure to mount them so you have a fuse and the open end is down, so rain water doesn't short the internal contacts. Obviously, this last part was learned the hard way. :angry2: RS and other electronics stores also have rubber caps to fit over the connector ends, but throw a couple of extras in the glove box since they tend to get lost.
Panel mounted version of size N jack
Male plug They make a female of this plug too, which I didn't see on their site.
The older flat-style connectors are Radio Shack # 270-026 or 270-025
