I am ashamed to admit this happened in my home state, on roads that my dad and I were riding the weekend before last.

At least they got the *******..

WOW thats to bad. I didn't think things like that happened like the movie EASY RIDER. Scarry stuff.

Amazing how they just threw in the fact both riders were not wearing helmets? why? and who ******* cares? Has nothing to do with the story. Surely premeditated is just that? How can it be 2nd Degree?

I wondered about the helmet thing, but it is the News Urinal, so I figured someone thought it was important. Reading about the nature/extent of the injuries I don't think a helmet would have made a lick of difference.

I think 2nd degree is appropriate - what's going to suck is that he'll plea to manslaughter, and probably serve 5 years.

Whatever amount of time he serves I think it would be entirely appropriate to revoke his driving priveleges permanently. I wonder what role the motorcyclists played in the road rage incident. Do you have any info on that Carniflex? cool signature by the way.

It seems that the cager cut the bikers off, then there was some sort of confrontation (everyone pulled over). When it ended, the cager followed the bikers and bumped them both off the road.

Today's article has some more info.

I was just about to post this same thought Thug. Like... somehow we're at least partially at fault when some dickless cage driver pulls this **** because of no helmet? :angry03:
Edit to add... It's just not worth it to escalate to road rage, especially on a bike. It has nothing to do with the right of way, but everything to do with the right of weigh.

I dont get it after they were on the side of the road, and the guy got back in his car to chase them, that should be pre meditated shouldn't it?Texas would fry him cailf.would blame it on his INNERCHILD !!!At one time i would have never let the son of a ***** make it back to his car. today i like to think i would just twist the wrist and let her fly.let them try to catch you at a buck 30

This stuff makes me so angry I can't see straight. I'd vote for the Texas judicial system in this case. The motorcyclist must not have seen him coming.

I'm all for letting somebody know I'm pissed off at them for cutting me off or almost killing me while I'm on the road, but this is a reminder that I better be careful how I do it. . .or at least very vigilant afterwards. I bet this isn't the only guy out there who's willing to kill somebody for smashing his mirror or some other (relatively) minor reason. . .especially when they are in an alcohol fueled rage. And consider this, I read somewhere, though I can't remember where it was, that about 1 in 10 people have a mental disorder of some sort (which explains a lot stuff that happens on this board  ) Now I know they aren't all violence related illnesses, but it still makes me wonder if the person next to me is one of these 10 percenters.

Oh, and one more thing. . .I say they should let Joseph August's family determine the rat *******s fate. What's good by them is good by me.

I'm all for eye for an eye, but death is the easy way out.

I'd like to see him tied up in a room and let the family beat him to a pulp.

Then throw him in a cell for 100 years.

If he doesn't get life in prison for drunken driving (and a few other charges judging by the article and the passenger) and pre-meditated murder then something is wrong.

That is typical, he was not so tough face to face, only in his cage...coward.

Sat evening, I took a fast trip south on the slab to Iowa. Frank likes getting the cobwebs out now and then, so I set a steady speed of 90 and went down to the border. Got some gas, talked with a Vulcan rider heading to Ohio from Sturgis, and started back. This was about 9 pm now. Once again doing a steady 90, I came up on a car in the right lane, looked in the mirror and saw some headlights well behind me, and moved left to pass. I had just gotten past the car on the right when flashing lights and a horn assualted me from behind. Next thing I know, a clapped out Escort is passing me on the shoulder to my left at better than 100mph. I hauled the bike right, he comes off the shoulder, crosses in front of me to the other shoulder, back onto the freeway, lays on the brakes in an attempt to get me to *** end him, waving his arms, screaming, and giving me the finger the whole time. I let him go, further ahead he matched speed with a car in the right lane in a blocking manuever, then finally got off when I wouldn't play. They are out there, no state requires a phsyciatric exam to get a license, and you never know what it will take to give someone the rage, nor what form their retribution will take. Once again, I beat the Skeleton, but I have to wonder how many more chances I get.

This one is a no brainer. This guy should get life.

But, what about the ones that kill us because they are paying more attention to their cell phone then the red light in front of them?

Around here, the newspapers report whether drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts when someone is injured or killed in an auto accident. I figured reporting helmet use was in the same vein.

Texas prisons are full of bikers, big mean horny bikers, Banditos with names like Chewy, Beto, and Junior...Bring em on down ! And Zorkler thanks for changing that UGLY-*** avatar of yours....birth control dude...really !!! :D
