Great story MEM. Thanks for sharing.
That's a great idea; some friends of ours lost their French Bulldog in Lake LBJ a couple of weeks ago. They found her floating under a neighbor's dock the next day. I hope she didn't suffer long, an dprobably didn't, bulldogs aren't great swimmers.2 weeks ago boating up river in parker wife yells "what the **** was that" so we turned around,it was someones wiener size dog dead in the water, musta fell off the dock at one of the houses and current took him till he couldnt paddle anymore.needless to say the life jacket for my 90 pound lab is on its way.
When my first Golden, Gaby, had a total hip replacement back in the mid-90s, I'd take her to our local little 'yacht' club. I'd walk up and down the dock tossing handfuls of pebbles - one by one - into the water for her to 'fetch. Up and down she'd swim - chasing pebbles. It was great therapy for her. She was a great galCool stories. Thanks for sharing, MEM. Wish I had thought about 'water therapy' when our 16 year old shepherd / malamute / mutt was suffering from severe arthritis.
