There was something similar done a few years back, but the guy used some type of webbing from his arms to his side to create a bat-like wing (with rocket on his back). If I remember correctly he was first dropped out of an airplane, then went into a powered glide through the mountains. Who knows, it might have been the same guy with the GenII prototype!
Looks fun, but if that poor guy ever lost power it doesn't look like that short wing wouldn't provide much of a glide, considering the weight involved. It would probably be time to deploy the chute!
