I was in Asheville for Christmas and got to drive The Tail of the Dragon on the way home. It was fun and virtually empty due to it being off-season. All three shops were even closed and we only saw 3 or 4 cars and 1 motorcycle, a Goldwing. I am eager to go back there in fairer weather and temps to carve out up on my FJR!

Its always best with no traffic. Sounds like you had a good run!

IMHO, the Dragon is best tamed early in the morning, about 20 minutes after the fog has lifted - which is just enough time to dry the road.

Nice R/R - I'm ready for a "mancation" too.

I replied to this topic somewhere - need to remember where to link it . . .

I agree. If you wait too long the traffic just picks up and the cops come out.

Me and my buddy have been kicking around ideas for this years Mancation. Not sure where we are headed yet, but I am sure it will be a blast.
