I was hoping to leave early Thursday to beat the heat in the valley. Possible routes might include Highway 4 over the pass or Highway 49 up through Downieville.

49 up through Donnieville is quite toasty now, it is a hot canyon ride untill Sierra City. Hwy 20 from Nevada City will get you into higher elevation sooner. I hope to leave Grass Valley between 11 -12, ride up 20 to 80 and over to North Shore of Tahoe, Mt. Rose Hwy over to Reno to beat some of the the heat.

I am hoping to be on the road at between 8am and 10am from Orangevale. I am probably just heading up 80 though since we are riding a bunch over the next few days. Boring, I know, but there we are. We I to take the fun route, I'd go from here, through Folsom up Salmon Falls Road to 49 over to 193 and to Georgetown up Wentworth Springs Road to Ice House to 50 to Tahoe and find a fun way into Reno from there.

So...if you want a break at 8-10 feel free to drop by the house and meet us...but we'll slab it there I am almost sure.

PM me if interested...I can definitely understand wanting to take the fun roads mid week!!! Have fun if you aren't interested in our route!

I be leaving late morning to early afternoon I be going grass valley 20 to 80 to cisco grove than old donner pass to Truckee From there maybee over to the lake and then mt rose hwy to reno.

I just got back from doing 2300 miles with Turbo Dave and Kaitsdad They went strait to reno after I left them at the entrance to Lasson national park. They missed the best ride of the week Still snow in the park. Nice and cool at the top, not to many cages. Whats with all the FJRs going the other way must have saw about a dozen or so.
