Under the July 2 thread, it appears a few FJRs might be heading to Markleeville for lunch via SR 4 or SR 88 and heading back to the valley by the other leg of that loop. As I posted there, if it's on, I'll meet you folks there, since I live in South Lake Tahoe -- about a 10 or 15 minute ride for me. And since I love to ride either of those passes, I'd enjoy the company for a part of the afternoon riding either.

So, if it's on, let me know when. The where is pretty easy, since it'd be almost impossible to miss even one FJR parked in Markleeville for lunch, much less a few or several.

Hey exskibum

If you want to ride I will be there 2 up. I have never been there before so I wouldn't know where to meet. I f you or someone Knows a good place to have lunch let us know.

Anyone else want to go? :cownoy:

Well, in Markleeville, pretty much anywhere you would be eating is right on the main street through town, all within about 150 yards of one another. One Feejer parks, and everyone else will see it. I can get you a couple names and the specifics of the restaurants from my GF when she gets back to town this weekend, b/c I don't eat there much or pay attention to the names of the places. She works for Alpine County just down the road toward Woodfords.

If you're coming over 88, you make a right at Woodfords onto 89 south and about 4 miles or so later, you're right there. If you're coming over 4, you just stay on the same road after you get down the east side of the twisties of the pass and it'll take you to the same place from the other direction.

Hey Slick, you back from the honeymoon already?

Congrats on getting married.

If you want to meet us in Plymouth I think that could be arranged. :cownoy:

Hi Mike,

Thanks. I can't say I made an honest woman of her, but at least we're legal. We pushed the honeymoon out to September - unfortunately I'll miss the Yosemite ride.

The corner of Shenandoah/Fiddletown and 49 should work. Breakfast at Marlene and Glen's would be nice, but it wouldn't leave any room for lunch.

I'm prolly not gonna make this one. Too much to do. IF I were goin', I'd meet at the Texaco in Plymouth or "Marlene and Glen's". Ride Fiddletown Road to the top, L. on Shake Ridge Rd.. It gets a little "goat trailed" at the top, but pops out onto 88 @ Dew Drop. L onto 88, you could either stop @ Kirkwood (IIRC theres a mini-mart on the N. side of 88 in that area) or go to Carson Pass overlook. Lotsa parking, restrooms, etc. Then downhill to the R. @ Woodfords, and what exskibum said, there are only about 3 choices in town. Al fresco at the sandwich shop or inside the restaurants. It'll be fun regardless.

Eat "light", Hwy 4 will be waaayy fun! Take the cut-off through Murphys and ride "old murphys grade" into Angels Camp. Starbucks, anyone? Jackson for ice cream?

Lets meet at the Texeco Station in Plymouth about 9:30 and leave about 10:00.

As MM2 has suggested we could go up Fiddletown road to Shakeridge then onto Hwy 88. With a stop or two for pic's or ? we should make Markleeville sometime between 12:00 and 12:30.

After lunch we can head down the hill on Hwy 4 to Murphy and then down Old Murphy"s Grade to Angel's Camp. :cownoy:

The Texaco station sounds good.

Mike - hope you find the time.

Ian - tell 'em to get with the program and put the bike together right.

Looking forward to riding with everybody.

I'm getting ready to head for the garage and installthe Wilbers and the new tires (grease the splines). If the rest of the stuff ordered doesn't arrive, I'll try for Sat. I probably won't know until the last minute.

Hmmmm, Fiddletown Road should be a good place to test the new shock and scrub in the tires...... ;)

If not, maybe I'll join the Rogdebs for lunch somewhere else! :D

FYI, the Texaco is on the South end of town, East side of the road, so if you Hwy. 50 to Latrobe, L. at the stopsign @ Old Sacramento Rd. Go R. @ 49 past the Pokerville Market about 1/2-3/4 mile.

Yeah, but I don't think I want to tackle Hwy. 4 on a full stomach and 1 houtr of sleep. If the parts don'et come in, I'll try. This could make Monday. 1 Aug. a busy day in the garage if we're leaving on the 2nd.

Besides, I'd like to see Ians bike after the repair. Otherwise, we're gonna miss Ian, again! ;)

BTW, why has this not been posted on FJR owners?
