I'm seriously considering it as a n00b. Most accounts say it can be good for both beginners and veterans. Just have to get my **** together and register before it fills up

Yup. I'm a first timer too. I've also heard that it's great for both the noob and veteran.

Several of us are planning the Butt Burner 1500 as part of our Rally trip. We're all signed up and ready to go. I think one may need to beg other attendees for rooms as I read that the hotel is full (Hope I'm wrong though). If so, get plugged in on the discussion thread and ask.

I signed up a bit ago on the premise that I will be functional by that time. (Low back issues.)

No room currently, so I will probably go to the Super8 or whatever is in the area. (Mentioned on the 20/20 forum.)

I don't know how competitive I will be, as I'm in it more for the long ride, and maybe making a friend!

OK I'm in. Just signed up. Looking forward to it with trepidation but anxious anticipation. Should be good!

Where's my GPS? Got some studing to do between now and then

I am in. Looking forward to it. This will be my 4th rally but only the 2nd with the FJR (1st rally with FJR will be Cape Fear in mid April). I called the hotel this past Tuesday and they had a room available at the MD2020 rate even though I was expecting them to say they were full as posted in the MD2020 forum.

Daddyman,

By now you should have met at least one friend; but in the case you have not, there are several of us up here in York county, PA. One of us works down and around Maryland daily, and there are several others I've mt that do live in your state.

With regards to the MD2020, We're looking forward to meeting and having a good time on the road.

Feel free to PM me your email and we'll keep you in the loop for future rides.

PS: you do realize your lucky to have a wife that supports your riding habit (not to mention she can fit into a size Medium monster outfit). ;)

Rick

All signed up a while back, and looking forward to my first rally too. Not looking to be in the least bit competitive, but would like to at least finish.

Pete., (the one from York that works in MD daily...)

I'm in as well, but probably not running the FJR yet. I still have stuff to sort out on it and my helper is leaving me again. The GS is ready to go, so....

If the Country Inn fills up, there's a Motel 6 literally stumbling distance. It obviously isn't nearly as nice as the Country Inn. I think there were a few more places down the street a little, but you will probably need to ride to get back in the evening...

Wish I could make this one. Rick puts on a great rally. Where else could you run across a tired, lone female rider with a smile on her face...at 0200 in the morning...on a cold foggy rainy morning...in the middle of West Virginia. :)

BTW...I would not recommend US 50 under those conditions. :)

At least you were on a FJR, Not Fun on a LT under those conditions plus the extra 280 lbs of bike. I just got my FJR less than 2 weeks ago, LOVE IT ! Man do I have prep work to do. To bad you will not be there.

By the way, why not ride the FJR? Not set up for distance yet?
Yep. Working on it, but slowly. Costs a lot of money to do all the crap I like to do. I'm also thinking about going with a different GPS. Sometimes I'm impulsive and sometimes I'm the polar opposite.

Am I allowed in the photo if I don't ride my FJR in the event? tee hee
Forum members are in -- if we can find each other through the beer and fatigue.

My 07 FJR has an Ontario plate with LD4FN (Long Distance For Fun). You will also see happy faces on my side bags and the back of my helmet (my daughters influence :) ). Say hi if I do not see any of you first.

Okay guys, less than a week before locations go out! Unfortunately, I am packed with 'stuff' to do next weekend as well as next week so I won't have much time to play around with the information. but that's okay, I'm showing up to have fun!

See you all there!
