Anyone have a source/experience with a mounting perch for the clutch master cylinder? I want to mount a Passport detector.

Also, any suggestions on wireing the power source?

Thanks

Dave

I have mine mounted like so:

Using a Ram Mount Control Mount, and the Ram mount radar/flat platform.

I have the vecro and a big ass O-ring to hold it on more than the magnetic plate. I don't like that alone. When the weather comes, I whip out a Ziplock bag from my tank bag or one of the side cases. This V1 has gone through a couple years on two bikes that way and still works just fine.

Mine is wired into my StarCom, you'll need at least ear buds, or the HARD system. You can't hear it and you certainly won't see it when you need it.

Oh, and I believe Skyway makes a mighty fine V1 mount, you might want to look into that too.

Thanks Gents,

I appreciate everyone's input, it makes a huge difference in getting farkles that work right.

I do like the look of Skyway's mount. I also like his price.

I don't plan on mounting too much stuff, maybe just the RD and an XM Radio. My idea (crude at that) for powering these is to run a line from the battery to my tank bag with a cigarette lighter style plug and simply power these with that. Unfortunately, my crude solution does not give me switched power.

Any ideas along these lines.

Thanks

If that's all you're gonna run, then I would do this...

(Battery Tender cord to the batter, dual purpose, plug it into a Powerlet Tank bag adapter)

Inside the tank bag run this to a Cig Lighter splitter thingy.

I used to power: Radar, XM, and GPS, as well as charge my phone and iPod inside the tank bag with this.

It's clean and simple too, only one wire into the Tankbag. The bigger issue is all the wires coming back out to those devices which led me to eventualy get away from this, but in a pinch, if you don't travel all that often it's a reasonable way to go.

I still use my tank bag in this way, but don't power anything that causes me to run a cord back out of the tank bag.

I have an 06, so I have the CigLigther thing in my little box. I run a cord from that to the tank bag and keep my cell phone and iPod charged in the tank bag but that's about it now.

Everything else is hard wired to a Blue Sea fuse box now and is much, much cleaner.
