Got a Tempur pedic and have had it for five years or so. The wife was having all kinds of pains when she woke up using the old top of line traditional mattress. She says all those aches and pains vanished immediately with the Tempu. As for me, I'm a restless sleeper anyway, and I still toss and turn on the Tempur, but it is definitely more comfortable than the other one. As far as being hot to sleep on - don't undertand that - have never experienced that and we live in So Cal. I would recommend it - but then again a mattress is such a personal taste/choice item.

knit two . . . perle one . . . knit two . . . perle one . . . knit two . . . perle . . .
No kidding... there's a vid. with some flaky chick getting dry-humped by different mattress "testers", and this thread takes the "good" road. Am I in the Vespa forum? :dntknw:

OMG, this really is a tobacco pipe and slippers crew.

Naw, I found the youtube vid while researching the Tempur-Pedic flop foam and thought it'd be funny to paste w/my research question. youtube has gone ..."One step BEYOND!" (-monster mash?)

A friend of ours got a -pedic a few years ago and we laughed at the sticker shock, from afar. Now, our king sized mattress is 10 y.old, and being we work blue collar jobs 40-60 hrs a week, we're ready for an upgrade. However, throwing down 1500 for a supposedly "NASA designed sleep system" gets me a little leery; sounds a little too Amwayish. (especially when I'm eyein a KTM 300 at the same time)

Thanks for all the feedback. Now, I have to find my slippers... :D

I got the 11" Sealy nock off. Every place I shopped said to avoid the Temp because of price even though they sold Temp as well. I love my sealy foam, 20 year warrenty, instant relief of morning back and neck pain. I did buy the Adjustable Temporpedic base and that thing rocks. Very expensive but great for TV and reading and such.

I am shopping for a new bed myself. I slept on a sleep number bed a couple of times at my brother's place and that's what I want. Which model do you have?
5000, if memory serves me right...

Just sold our Temperpedic last spring for a Sleep Number. Although I enjoyed the Temperpedic, my wife hated it. We compromised and bought the Sleep Number. Now, we are both happy!!!!

I would seriously consider this thought as that most couples do not share the same firmness in bedding. The Sleep Number allows for that reality.

Dingdingdingdingding... we have a Winnah!!!!

That's the problem every other bed we ever had came with... one or the other of us was uncomfortable. Sleep Number allows you to have exactly what you want, while your significant other can have a totally different setup, which is what they need... It's money well spent, kinda like a custom seat on an FJR... you may try lots of bandaids on the problem, airhawk, beads, padding, monkey butt powder, but once you just dive in and get a custom seat, you realize it was money well spent.

Oh sure, it couldn't be the cheap one. :glare:
Thanks. Guess I'll have to compare the different models.
Don't sweat the models too much... the concept and construction is pretty much the same... it's just a matter of how fine the controls are, are they wireless, etc. If you liked the bed (in whatever form), it's basically the same thing in all the other forms, although some are more farkled than others.

Here's an interesting, albeit

That's right! toecutter and I share the same taste in slippers and pipes. Gosh, you meet the nicest folks on an FJR....*sighhhh* :hi:

Anybody goin for a ride this weekend? I know I am. :yahoo:
