Well, I couldn't stand it any longer. I have enjoyed farkling my new 2008...windshield, heated grips, throttlemeister, powerlet outlet, Sargent seat, Yammy trunk (not arrived yet), n/line dash, Garmin 2610, Valentine1, Cee Bailey headlight covers...and I was thinking how much I wished the FJR had true cruise control...so seeing another thread about Spoiledbiker.com, I ordered their cruise control for the FJR. Very pricey, and it will cost another small fortune for me to have it installed (I am no wrench!)...but I am very excited!

Any other '08s have McCruise? Sure hope I have not made a mistake.

Install yourself. Save the money, its easy and their instructions are EXTREMELY good. Plus they do phone support if you do get stuck.

I have one for my 07. But I lack a garage, the tools, and the time to do it. It's still in a box. I'm trying to find a shop that will put it in. My dealer won't touch it.

Hey, Phug -- check out Wilson's Motorcycles in Fresno. I *ahem* "met" the president of the company, Pat Cody last summer. He rides an '07 AE outfitted with a MC Cruise. One of his tech wiz dudes put it in for him, so they might be willing to hook you up. It'd be a nice day ride for you if they can do it. Tell 'em to tell Pat I said hey.

I have one on my bike, but since I just bought it a few days ago, I haven't really had a chance to use it much. I hope it is all that it is cracked up to be too !

I'm jealous, from everything I have heard it's a great product, Enjoy!!! Now if I only had the extra money.

I have been jonesing(sp) for one of these for my 2006 AE. Not quite certain how to approach this but If we can generate some interest perhaps we can organize a group buy. I'm pretty certain I would buy one at the older prices. Any one else out there feel the same way?

I seem to always be a victim of "gotta have it now"! I forked over $770 for this...I have seen other forum members say they got it for around $400 just last year. The price is steep, no doubt, but this should be a great farkle.

I would

The exchange rate is the killer now.
The exchange rate IS the killer! I heard of someone buying one for $530 back in Dec. 07. I paid $770.23 recently! Ouch, but this thing is the cat's ***!!!!!! Instructions are very thorough and great tech support. I use it (play with it) every time I ride now. I just can't get over how well it performs. I going to put it to good use this week on a 3,000 mile trip if the Freaking Minnesota weather will cooperate! Ride on, jevers

just for the record.....
We (down here) think the exchange rate is AWESOME.

***sorry guys***

Just goes to show you, for every ying there is a yang.

Well, take advantage of that exchange rate and come on over for a vacation....We'll throw a shrimp on the barbie for ya! :D

I just finished the install today and while time consuming the instructions were crystal clear. I had purchased this quite a while ago and for a number of reasons just recently had the time to install it on my 06 AE. :yahoo:

I found that some of the dianogstic testing did not work as per instructions but I believe this maybe due to the brake/start interlock defeating the dianogstic mode. I plan on contacting McCruise to get their opinion.

On the road test however everything functioned well. My only concern is that I have an increase in throttle pull. I suspect this is due to the required routing of the original throttle cable to the interface unit. The cable goes through a very tight bend going into the interface unit and there does not appear to be any other routing options available.

I can live with it but I would like a lighter throttle when not on cruise control. Any opinions (other than some smartass crack about removing the unit).

yamafitter,

I just finished my install last weekend - pain in the rear. Much worse than the install I did on my '04 - I attribute it to the new location of the CIU. Anyway, I'm having the same throttle pull issue - have you found a remedy?

Thanks,

Tahoe
