After an arduous journey of well over 34 miles to bring my new Gen III home from the dealer I now feel fully qualified to provide an exhaustive review of the 2013 FJR.
General impression: Velvet beast. Just like my Gen I bike I got rid of a couple of years ago.
Center stand: About 30% - 40% less effort than my Gen I. A BFD when you're 150 pounds and 66 years old.
Nose dive under heavy braking: About like my Gen I AFTER I put the 110 kg fork springs in the latter.
Throttle: Very, very little abruptness during on/off. Much better than my old bike even after I installed the Throttle Tamer. Effort against throttle spring: negligible.
Leg heat: With the side gills open (a two minute job) Nada. Zilch. Zip. Zero. There ain't none.
Information display: Pretty darned spiffy. Very intuitive. Especially compared to my Ducati; which was designed by an honors graduate of the Hannibal Lecter School of Human Engineering.
Now, anybody got any ideas on where to mount the RAM balls for my GPS and radar detector? This dash re-design doesn't leave much in the way of flat spots.
Oh, and to comply with forum protocols: You Gen I guys are Neanderthals and you Gen II guys are a bunch of commie homos. (Just trying to fit in)
