I'm monitoring and would go depending on a spring thaw before next weekend.

With four passes to cross, this is looking more like a snowmobile trip. I'm with Iggy on this one, we'll see what next weekend brings.

The RTE organizer is out in the Carribean at the moment. I would imagine she'll respond next week.

3/31 looks like it might be more civilized. I really don't like the sound of studded tires on the bike.

Looks like the weekend cleared off the passes nicely. I could easily make it next weekend as long as the snow does not fly again.

Trouble is I've developed a dead short in my tail lights which is where I draw my accessory control power. If I don't find and fix this before Friday evening I won't be able to make it.

I would go for this weekend if that is the plan. I should have the rest on the slush ice off the road by then or I will trailer it the 1/2 mile to pavement. It is 55 degrees here now. Lets hear from the rest.

I want to come and planning, but I'm waiting a bit longer to commit as the weather shows sub-freezing temperatures at night at low points along the way (Pendleton, Ukiah, etc.) and a 30% chance of precip.

I'm guessing I'll be deciding after looking at the weather possibilities in the mountains. It takes just one icy pass to make the whole day suck. Them's the breaks of living in the North.

Ray, I think that I am going to pass. The nights here at 4200ft are still getting down below freezing. The passes to Mt Vernon are all over 5000ft. All it would take is one shady corner to ruin a good day and my bike. I think I will wait for another day. Sorry.

Hi Kids,

Finally home from the SUNNY Caribbean! Date change on the RTE to Mt. Vernon, OR. Let's do it on March 31st & give it more time for snow to melt...Damn, my tan will be gone by then, tho.

Is there an official page to post RTE's?

Thanks,

LIsa

Damn, I was just lurking on this one to see if a date would be finalized. I will be just rolling in from Palm Springs on the 31st. Oh well hope to catch the next time, sounds like a fun time.

Great, That works for me. The 31st it is.

shucks, sorry to hear of the change

I'll be on a 3week ride in Mexico on the 31st so count me out. Have fun and anyone going through Prineville ...say hi to my friend Les Schwab LOL

:yahoo: Just trying to stir the pot. There is nothing to stop those that want to from riding both dates or whenever else. I am riding somewhere this weekend.

LOL, yep, i'm still planning to head north. Not sure John Day will be the destination now. I had a really cool RTE streak going that may cease this weekend :angry2:

This would have been my 4th of 5 straight weekend ride to eat 'events'

Reno John, where in the north are you heading?? I am building a loft in my shop and I really need a FJR break . Maybe if Mt Vernon doesn't work we can hook up elswhere. :)
