ain't nuffin colder than riding thru snow.........BTDTWe're on our way home, holed up in Danbury CT since I couldn't keep the snow off my visor and it (the visor) kept fogging up anyway. On the way to CFR when my cousin and I hit snow on our way to Yellowstone Park, we tucked tail and made a run for it back to the interstate.
Not Mark and I. We hit snow in southern Pennsylvania and, being REALCanucks'tards*, we rode right through it - on and off for almost 400 kms. I wondered if the FJR thermometer registers negative values. It does
* just saving someone the trouble of fixin' it for me .....
Thanks, sistah Forecast for the ride through Connecticut is "light rain" and temps between 2 and 5 degrees. That's 36 and 41 for those of you who don't speak canadian.ain't nuffin colder than riding thru snow.........BTDTWe're on our way home, holed up in Danbury CT since I couldn't keep the snow off my visor and it (the visor) kept fogging up anyway. last week I did one last scoot of the interior before the snow takes over high ground. The final day out of Kamloops, thru Merritt was -5c. Finally warmed up in Boston Bar. OMG, I have never been that cold before. Stopped at CndTire in Merritt and bought those lil glove and toe warmer paks and stuffed one everywhere I could. Thanks, sistah Forecast for the ride through Connecticut is "light rain" and temps between 2 and 5 degrees. Countin' on it ! ttywigh that is - not the 'staying warm' part. Note to self: "get a heated vest! You drive a hard bargain. Don't tempt me Since I missed my Thanksgiving dinner, I was going to do a turkey on Sunday. Picked up a shift in the OR instead. Seems like a reasonable alternativemy vest and grips rawk, but at -5 the grips could not keep up with the cold.I almost scored a pair of battery operated socks last year thru Marks Work Wearhouse, but now they no longer carry them. I have to suss some out with Cabela's or MEC I guess. I never remember to do that until I am miles away from home, shivering my *** off tho!
Hey? iffin yer cold, swing out this way. I have my after Thanksgiving turkey soup simmering on the stove.
For you? I make fresh biscuits........
I guess that means John isn't going to cook it? :dribble:You drive a hard bargain. Don't tempt me Since I missed my Thanksgiving dinner, I was going to do a turkey on Sunday. A hug and a cuddle aren't going to help ALL the cold spots! And my BMW suit is great - I just need a heated vest. Merry Chtistmas to ME!This has been a great read. Mary Ellen, you are "the bomb". Just think how much warmer you may have been in an Aerostitch.
You've had a real adventure.

Oooooh, baby, you needed a hug and maybe a cuddle!
I have a Gerbing liner and really like it. The Warm and Safe owners also like that product. I've never had a vest, I don't like cold arms. Much of the time I use my liner as a jacket under my riding gear and that's all I need. However, when the temps drop, plugging it in and feeling the warmth: It's a good thing!A hug and a cuddle aren't going to help ALL the cold spots! And my BMW suit is great - I just need a heated vest. Merry Chtistmas to ME!
In my experience, it is much cheaper and effective, both financially and emotionally, to buy them lil heat paks.Ahem.......EVERYWHERE? :dribble:OMG, I have never been that cold before. Stopped at CndTire in Merritt and bought those lil glove and toe warmer paks and stuffed one everywhere I could.

Yah, and NOT deal with the pride or attitude. I could have resisted a response, but what's the fun in that. Besides, I was having soooo much fun with the mind pictures. In my experience, it is much cheaper and effective, both financially and emotionally, to buy them lil heat paks.
Easier to get the heat where ya need it too..........................and keep it there
