My version of Wheaton's ride. The same route from Dodgeville to Ferryville (almost) and then a different loop back to Dodgeville and then to who knows where. Just a thought. This is about a 650 mile loop for me. (from Crown Point)

I guess I am more inclined to do the route that griff has proposed for a day ride. That is more reasonable...usually when I do the SW WI twisties I like to do an overnight.

Therefore, unless breadman has some objections...that is what I think we should do. Unless someone else steps forward and commits, it looks like it is the three of us on Sunday. According to NOAA, it looks like I'll get wet early, but the weather gets better as the day wears on and as we move north into cheeseland. Therefore, I'd say it is a go unless something changes.

I propose we meet at the Dodgeville McDonalds at 10am, this will mean leaving Wheaton at 6:30 am. Griff, if you want to meet up at the tollway oasis, let me know and I'll let you know which one and when I'll be there.

Also, we will leave some twisties unridden. Therefore, if later in the summer, people want to do an overnight SAT/SUN trip up there...I would be up for that if schedules and weather permits.

Other than first thing this morning, it looks like you guys ae going to have a perfect day for riding. Wish I could be there with you.

I just returned-9:00 PM. 14 hour day and for me (the shortest distance ridden of us three) 600 miles. Holy Mother of God am I sore!! Helluva lot 'o fun though.

Just got back 10 minutes ago. GREAT day for riding! Thanks to griff who went along with doing a longer ride...he had a much longer ride than me. Therefore we got to do alot more twisties than planned. :)

Nice to meet you breadman! Thanks for riding griff...you are the real deal! SE OH, Hooterville 400, Indy doo-dah & SW WI!!

Got back about 10:00 pm. 735 miles today - almost all of it fun. Even the ride back around Chicago was fun - traffic was fast, - tried to treat 294 as one big twisty. Wheaton and Breadman - thanks for the great riding. Got to do this again!!

Here is the route we actually rode from Dodgeville and back...285 miles...then home from there.

Here is a little 35mph curve that is about 15mph mismarked  :dribble: Between 131 and cnty D Westbound righthander...BEWARE or you will be like me and consider your mortality...which isn't always a bad thing BTW...

I blew the curve as it tightened up on me and would have planted my face on the grill of an oncoming car if one had been there. My responsibility I know....needless to say I was a little shook up after that. Other than that curve and the fact I could have died if circumstances beyond my control were different, the day was great. Little traffic, great weather and great roads. BTW, the Russell Day-Long works. Not even a hint of soreness... :)

Those were the best roads I have ever ridden by far! Wheaton and Griff - you were friendly, kind, accomodating, and professional. You both exceeded my expectations as fellow riders. I definitely came away from our SW WI ride a better rider with increased skill and confidence. Your signalling of hazards on the roadway proved valuable many times over. I quickly learned how vital it is to watch the rider ahead for those signals. I was guilty of worrying about corner speed and lean angle(caught up in the rush) rather than using caution and allowing the bike to do its job naturally as my comfort envelope expanded. I really hope we can ride together again sometime. You guys rock!!!

Yeah, and I'm grumpy from lack of riding.
I would like to second this. Been scaring the toilet all day long. Decided to go into the city last night and have some coffee. After wards stopped at Rizza and picked up some soup for me a misses. Well, that soup was coming out all day long today. Just coming to grips with my body. Such a great day wasted. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. Will get ready for my 2.5 mile ride to work :)

At least I will get to put a few hundred miles on for work today, but it will be from Rockford down to Chicago, and then back out to Rockford. Not exactly what I would call "Fun" Riding.
