Went for a little ride yesterday up to Newcombs ranch and durning the ride i was following a VW trike in the canyon filming this guy doing about 80 MPH plus

Was really cool and was hoping to meet this guy up at the ranch and let him know i was filming him when :wtf: road felt really wobbly as i was slowing called my buddie on radio behind me and ask hey is my rear tire flat and just as i unkeyed the radio he says dude your tire just went flat.. Any hoot pulled over fixed the flat and on my way...But while i was kicking it waiting for glue to dry i hear a loud wind whirl and look over a turn up the road and filmed this

That there is a Cat 2 dust devil. On the north side of the San Gregorios (where Newcombs is located) you have some of the best thermal activity in the area. That northern slope is a well-known area to glider pilots for catching some serious altitude out of Crystalaire before heading east or north, many times for record setting distances. The airmass on the north side is in pretty constant motion once the sun gets up a bit. This time of year the desert is full of these things.

That's pretty funny. That's so teeny, you could'nt even get an Okie excited about chasing it...and they'll chase anything twistin' around in a circle. :p

For reference...here's a tornado...
