"You have to admit that

THESE folks consistently improve

on cookie-cutter styling, and achieve a nicer look than

all of the other cruiser manufacturers. And they quietly

prioritize function---real suspension, larger

saddlebags, comfortable ergos, better wind protection.

Wait until they start making sport-tourers with inline fours."

(Quoting an email from mi hermano.)

I'm not currently in a 'cruising tourer' frame of mind at this time but I have been, and will be again some day. I like the looks of those two new models.

What IS that thing and how come it's only got two wheels? Is that somethimg only people with really big heads can have, can the general public get them?

It's Bombardier, a big Canadian manufacturing conglomerate. They make Victory motos, SkiDoo snowmobiles, SeaDoo jet skis, that 3-wheeled spyder thang, Polaris ATVs, own Rotax (engines), and also make stuff like trains and airplanes (Canadair regional jets). Big company for sure.

How come Bombardier's webpage doesn't mention the Victory motorcycles or Polaris Snowmobiles or ATVs?

WHEN BRANDS BECOME LEGENDS

Discover our Ski-Doo & Lynx snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft & sport boats, Can-Am ATVs & Spyder roadsters, Evinrude and Johnson outboard engines and Rotax engines & karts.

Polaris Industries is pretty silent about a connection to Bombardier also:

https://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/Our...ryHeritage.aspx

And to put the final nail in the coffin:

https://finance.yahoo.com/q?d=t&s=PII

I don't know of any companies traded on the NYSE that are wholly owned by another company...

Victory Motorcycles are, indeed, made by Polaris Ind. in MN (factories in Rosseau MN, Osceoa WI, and Spirit Lake IA). Polaris also manufactures snowmobiles, ATVs, and other small wheeled vehicles.

Bombardier (BRP) is Canadian and also builds snowmobiles (Ski-Doo), ATVs, other wheeled vehicles, and lots of other stuff. Bombardier is aligned with Rotax (Austrian engine maker) and so is BMW. Much of BRPs product is manufactured in Cd. Juarez, Chi., MX. (BMW has motorcycles made in China). Italian manufacturer, Aprilia, uses/used Rotax engines (but, may be trying to wean themselves from them...?) Harley Davidson is pinning their racing hopes on Rotax engines.

Polaris was once aligned with (Austrian motorcycle manufacturer) KTM. H-D once wanted to buy KTM....

Polaris is aligned with and used Japanese Fuji Heavy Industries (Fuji Robin) engines which is tied to Subaru automobiles (WWII Nakajima aircraft).

All 'clear-as-mud'....right?

Ah, you're right. Time for my alzheimers medicine. I seem to be confusing the Polaris and Can-Am brands.

Victory is certainly part of Polaris. Polaris and Bombardier Recreational Products appear to be in many of the same product areas - ATVs, waverunners, etc, but now ownership relationship.

Just goes to show ya, never trust anything you read on the internet; you never know if the author had time to do the research first.

Not to be super picky but I think Victory motorcycles are made and engineered OUTSIDE of MN (engines are made in Osceola WI and final assembly in Spirit Lake IA) although the headquarters of Polaris Industries Inc. is in MN.

Where is Polaris Located?

The Corporate Headquarters are located in Medina, Minnesota USA.

Roseau, Minnesota is the original birthplace of Polaris, and currently houses design and manufacturing of Polaris Snowmobiles, ATV’s and the Polaris RANGER.

Osceola, Wisconsin is where many Polaris parts are manufactured and also home to the Victory Motorcycle Engineering Department.

Spirit Lake, Iowa is home to the manufacturing of ATV’s, RANGER, and Victory Motorcycles.

There are also many other locations, distributors, and wholly-owned subsidies worldwide.

I've heard nothing , but good things about the brand. If I was in the market for a cruiser I'd buy a Victory.

Yup...

Old MIchael is right about Victory's stuff. Though, this is sport touring all day (just with a Vtwin)!

Actually two versions...

The 2010 Victory Cross Country is the one I really like... Comes in Black, Skull Black Theme, and Cherry:

Hmmm.... A 106 Ci motor, 6 speed, Standard Electronic Cruise Control, Huge Bags (21 Gallons total space in these bags, Over twice as large as the Feejers Bags!!), MP3 compatible sound system, inverted forks, ect, ect...

This 106 Ci Motor comes stock with 92 hp and 109 tq and its a true closed looped system...

Some enthusiasts (with this motor in the Jackpot Vegas, Hammer, Vision) are getting 115+ Hp and 120+ Tq at the

tire (on the dyno) with slip ons, after market air intakes, and their FI reflashed! This power configuration will give

our FJR's a run for its money! Also, the frame on the Cross Country has the same ground clearance as the Victory Vision..

FYI, magazine side by side performance tests involving the Victory Vision up against the GL1800 reported that the Victory handled better

than the Goldwing and had more ground clearance. So I am guessing that this bike will handle better than the boat anchors it

was designed to compete with!

VERY COOL BIKE!!! VICTORY MAKES VERY HIGH QUALITY STUFF!! SMOKES EVEN THE $40,000 HD CVO's!!

Don't fool yourself, these bikes (with a good rider) are very fast off of the line and Roll-on acceleration that would make any off us grin.

Check out a couple videos here of the previous (smaller) 100 Ci Victory Motor in action:

Obviously the R1 catches it but impressive none the less. Notice the HD squid racing without a helmet!! DUMB ****!

MINNESOTA IS PROUD!! GREAT BIKE!! LOOKING AT ONE FOR MY STABLE!!
