After a mere 4 months and 1700 miles of owning my new FJR, yesterday I did what so many others here have done, and I feared doing. . . Yep, I found myself sideways on the ground with it on top of me. Thanks to the sliders, the only damage was a scraped mirror mount and a broken mirror. . . The guy that helped me up may have done it, but being in a rather "bemused" state of mind, I'm not sure, and wouldn't have commented anyway, as I was grateful for the help. Now, I have spent about 30 minutes using the search feature, and can't find an answer, so I'm just asking if, and how, the mirror glass can be replaced, or if I'm going to have to order the whole unit. Thanks in advance!

I was attacked by a flying turkey vulture not too long ago and asked the same question. The simple answer is, no, they don't sell just the glass, only the entire mirror assembly.

Damn! Not the answer I was hoping for, but I guess that I'm off to the Yamaha store to price them. . .

I've seen them from about $80 to $129. They are not really expensive and really easy to replace. Just be sure to replace the entire base and not just the stem as you risk breaking the cheap cast tab inside the mirror mount.

If only the glass is broken, any competent auto glass replacement outfit can cut a piece to match, then it's just a matter of removing all the old and gluing in the new. Cost should be $25-$35.

Competent is the key word here, but even then, it's very difficult to get an exact fit. If you look closely at your glass, it's larger than the plastic frame that it's in.

I have quote from 7/10/08 for a mirror assembly for a blue '06 part # 3P6-26280-00-P0 for 101.95

Where'd you get that part number? I have 3P6-26280-00-P2 for LEFT and 3P6-26290-00-P2 for RIGHT. Is the P0 for BOTH????

FYI. . . The purchase price for the replacement from MamaYama was almost exactly $130, delivered! That was truly an expensive "nap", but without the sliders would have been a LOT more!

I've seen mirrors on ebay numerous times. Type FJR1300 into their search box and you'll be amazed what's there.
